I honestly just thought people didn’t like me…. but I remember everything. I honestly don’t know what to do but to just kheep going on my journey. Tomorrow makes 1 month no s*x or ma********on, w**d, or excessive intoxication. I’ve also been in the gym more. Next is better diet and we in there. Hope this helps and/or matters ❤️

The last thing I want to point out about my time in Medellín is this guy right here: the black face guy. Naturally, it got me kinda upset to see this guy at a stop light IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY, to be dressed and done up like he was a slave share cropper. It was so appalling in my eyes, I wanted to scream. But one thing for sure it reminded me of is the struggle of being a black person and how we are naturally seen by everyone. Regardless of this man’s intent in being in black face and in his outfit, all it could remind me of was that I need to be in progress for the better and not for the worse. If this is how Colombians view black people, then there’s no help for them as a progressive place I feel. Only God can heal that. But if it is indeed just a reminder of what was, then I thank this man for his service. Because we all do need to be reminded of the past. So much so that we fight for such terrible things as slavery, imprisonment and indentured servitude to not be a thing ever again, especially among blacks. Colombia and the world needs black figures that stand for what is right and what would make the world a better place. I pray to God that I can somebody that they see as suitable of honor, grace, justice and peace and as one who distributes such characteristics. Again, I had a great time in Colombia, and I will definitely be back!

I gotta say this because I need to clear it up: I’m not a drug dealer or a criminal or anything of the sort. In retrospect, even if i was I wouldn’t be as obvious as I am about it now, painting pictures for you think a certain way lol. Im just a really good story teller fr lol.. Im not a liar. Im imaginative. In all honesty, if it came down to it, I’d sell the hell out of some drugs, but I’d rather leave that life for those who need to or for those who seek to make that kind of money that will help there situation. I choose now to be someone who brings joy. And if that leads me to the path of being somebody that deals drugs or anything of the sort, so be it in my opinion. I just want people to be well and have joy in this world as God gave us all the options for that in our make up even if we live in a fallen state. I say all that because coming to Colombia was apart of me growing and really seeing the good and the bad that happens here and in the world. It’s no worse than what happens in the states really. If anything, it’s more dangerous in the Unjted States fr. It’s a diverse place, it definitely needs work, but it has a lot of potential and groundbreaking marvelous beauty. It’s a place where anybody can be somebody and I pray to that end, of course with good intent. Viva la Colombia! Lol

All in all I enjoyed myself in Medellín. I ate good food, met cool folks, I gave a lot of money out, but mostly because 1000 pesos is worth about a quarter here in the United States. And then everything is mad cheap there. An ESPENSIVE hotel is probably about $50 a day there compared to cheap ones here being about $70-$80. I even got to ride the buses to the outskirts a few times. Lol.. It was such a beauty every time.

Although, there are ample amount of cabs and cars and buses, I was surprised at the number of people who ride motorcycles and bikes everywhere. Like literally, most people were on a bike. There’s literally a whole 2 blocks in de centro were nothing is sold but bikes, motorcycles, motorcycle and bike parts and maintenance for them. That might not seem like a lot but it certainly looks like it. Lol.. My cab driver who I rode around with down there is trying to build one himself. He asked me to do him a favor, in which I will do my best to kheep: he asked me to send him some Suzuki lights cuz apparently those are the best kind for the build. I was wit it. He even offered to send me some money for it. As most people would say, “Yo no Mendiga”, meaning “I’m not a beggar.” People in Medellín live that saying and even speak it to themselves while working. I heard one dude saying it under his breath. Lol But he also wasn’t the first or the last person that I heard say that and it really stuck wit me by the time I was i was leaving . “Yo no mendiga.”

All in all, the people of Medellín are lovely folks that just wanna in improve. They don’t care about doing terrible things. They’re just people that wanna work, thrive and be civil. And it’s so beautiful.

I saw signs like this everywhere in “De Centro” where I stayed in town. Apparently that’s the bad side of town. But it’s honestly the dead center of Medellín. Lol.. It’s pretty obvious that it’s not the best place, not gunna lie. However, when I was there, I didn’t experience any crime, at least not crime that I would admit to threatening my or anybody else’s life. It was a such an astounding thing to me to that they praised and acclaimed Pablo Escobar with such veneer, even having him in such stature as other politicians. And I mean these signs were EVERYWHERE in the center of town and near the University. I’m not completely sure if these were signs of praise or if they were signs of shame. Either way, I totally understand. It’s like rappers and people who do and praise “bad things” here, ya know. They live not the best lives, but they have love for the hood and for the people to want to do better, even if they themselves can’t. It was a really eye opening thing to see.

While it’s certainly no perfect place (I’ll get back to that in a second), Medellín isn’t what people would totally think it is. There’s crime, muy mal, there’s hard work to be done everywhere, but the spirit of the place is one of efficiency and togetherness while hustling for a dollar. With its past being the home of the world greatest drug lord, there’s no doubt that Medellín has the spirit of hustle, service and hospitality in it everywhere you go. However, don’t be no slouch, or else they WILL pull one over on you and get 5 dollars out of you instead just the original price of an item bring 1 dollar. Lol… everywhere I went in this place, it reminded me of the grind of wanting to improve and do better for your community. Because the people in Medellín are so tight and hospitable, (of course with some change in your pocket lol) it’s hard to imagine that anyone can go there and not feel like they themselves can make it a home. It’s a busy city, there’s homeless, there’s infrastructure, there’s stuff to do.. but in Colombia, always know, there is always the grind.
