Everything you put on social media can and will be used to put an end to the way of life we all love. As fellow hunters- we do not want to see the blood, guts, and gore. That is not why we hunt and it damn sure doesn’t belong on the internet. Everything you post better be digestible by anyone, especially those who don’t understand every aspect of what goes in to it. We have kids that we want to be able to take hunting one day, don’t take that away from us. DO BETTER.

Here is a very special short film that we made for the 2022 Badlands Film Festival in Louisville Kentucky. The entire audience in Louisville laughed and cried with us as it played on the big screen. The Badlands Film Festival last night was phenomenal! By far the best film lineup we have ever seen. After seeing how incredible the other films were, we felt even more humbled then we already were to just be featured in such a perfect show.

Our Road To Louisville Day 6. After learning as much as we did from our first year of filming, it was time to buy a camera setup that we couldn’t really afford😅😂 Our reasoning for that was knowing for certain how passionate we were about filmmaking. When you have a chance to chase your dream, jump into it head first. Invest absolutely everything into it. That’s exactly what we did. Getting to watch our hard work on the big screen in Louisville is our first taste of the payoff🙌🏻👊🏻😁

Our Road To Louisville Day 4. Bow was only three weeks old when he was on his first successful archery elk hunt. The Badlands 2200 made for an awesome napping spot as mom and dad got the elk prepared for the pack out. That was a bit of a pivotal moment for us. We truly realized how special our parenting method was and we so badly wanted others to see it and feel encouraged to do the same. That was our goal and motive from the start, it is today, and it always will be.

Our Road To Louisville Day 3 is all about the star of the show. Cheyenne and I are blessed to have the most awesome kiddo in the world. We took him hunting with us when he was only a couple weeks old. We wanted to raise his the same way we were. He truly is the star of our show. They are never too young to enjoy the outdoors🥰

Our Road To Louisville Day Two is also conveniently on our wedding anniversary. My dad hired Cheyenne to guide for him. This is where I first met her and started to fall in love. All of our first dates were spent on the mountain. We quickly fell in love and saw how special we were together. We were raised very similar and both have a huge love for the outdoors. She is the best thing to ever happen to me, I’d never be where I am today without her. I love you more than anything Cheyenne, happy anniversary baby❤️

Our Road to Louisville Day One takes us back 8 years ago to were it all started. Jason Matzinger and Barrett Haugan came down to Colorado to archery elk hunt with us. I was only 15 years old and extremely excited to get to hunt with a couple of guys I had watched on the Sportsman’s Channel. Getting to hunt with them and enjoy their company in person, I was surprised at how down to earth they were. “Famous” people I had watched on TV weren’t all that different from me at all. Jason is the one who sparked my interest in the art of film making and he has been a role model to me all along. He is just a real genuine person that knows what people really want to see in films. I fell in love with his film making style and knew I wanted to try to make these incredible pieces of art for myself. However, I was only 15 years old. The dream was born but it quickly went to the back burner. The next few years of my life were all about chasing girls and trying to find a “real” career. My love for the outdoors was definitely still there as well as my curiosity of film making. It just seemed so overwhelming to try to go after alone.

Tomorrow will officially be one week from the Badlands Film Festival. It is a dream come true that our film, “When I Was Two” ,is going to be featured in it. Getting into the Badlands Film Fest is not something that is easy to do. It is something that started with a dream eight years ago and has taken hard work and dedication to achieve. Starting tomorrow we are going to take you guys on our journey that has led us to this. This is “Our Road To Louisville”

Here are the official selections for the short film category of the 2022 Badlands Film Festival. We are incredibly humbled that our film, “When I Was Two” was selected. So much hard work has gone into this dream, yet it’s still hard to believe that we actually did it. We can’t wait to see the audience’s reaction in Louisville. Also a huge thank you to all of our friends, family, and followers for all of the love and support🙌🏻🥰😁

We saw this the other day and it really hit home for us. It wasn’t all that long ago that Cheyenne and I were those kids. Now we are fortunate to have a kiddo of our own that we get to introduce to the outdoors. Our dream with Raised in the Rut is to inspire as many people as possible to take a kid hunting. They are never too young to go on their first hunting trip. We are here to showcase that with our family😁🙌🏻

We just dropped a fun little short film on our YouTube showing our family's tradition that we started this year. We keep all of the antlers that we find. This year we set a goal to find 100 antlers. As we found them, they went into their own pile. When it was time to build the Christmas tree, we counted all of this year's finds and added them to our exsiting stash. Together, they created a beautiful Christmas tree that represents all of the miles, memories, and hard work that our family puts in to find these antlers. We hope you enjoy it. We have officially completed this film and submitted it to the Badlands Film Fest. This film is definitely our best yet, it’s packed full of real, raw emotions and plenty of humor. Not to mention the cutest elk hunter there has ever been! Wish us luck in getting selected!😁🙌🏻

Our family is growing much faster than expected🥰 Cheyenne, Bow, and I cannot wait to meet these little ones in May. You all are about to see how motivated this family really is. It has been so amazing to have our son on the mountain with us since he was three weeks old. Well, now we are going to have a toddler and two babies on the mountain with us. Let’s do this👊🏻🥰❤️🙌🏻

Like many of you, we are constantly looking to improve our hunting setups. This year we decided to try Swhacker broad heads. That turned out to be an epic success as we got to harvest three elk with them. Every single one went down within sight. No blood trailing necessary👌🏻🏹
