Please be advised that there will be a scheduled power interruption requested and to be conducted by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Affected Substations:
Sangali Substation, and Putik Substation

Feeders: CULIANAN, CURUAN, FISHING PORT, ARENA BLANCO, PRESA, GUIWAN, TUMAGA, NORTHSIDE, MERCEDES, TETUAN AND ZAMPEN

Time: 03:00 AM - 11:00 AM (8 hours)

Reason: NGCP notice of scheduled power interruption (NOSPI) along Zamboanga-Tumaga 69KV line on January 19, 2024 due to tapping of the 69KV conductors of the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project to the existing 69KV bus system of Zamboanga Substation in preparation for its energization.

BFP EXTORTIONIST NABBED IN ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR

A BFP personnel assigned in Isabela City was nabbed today at about 5:15 in the afternoon at Purok Crossing, Bgy. Sicade, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur. The entrapment operation was conducted by the elements of the Philippine National Police composed of different teams coming from the Criminal Investigation and Detective Group (CIDG), Zamboanga del Sur, PFU led by PLTCOL REX R PEROCHO together with PLTCOL YCER NOAH S ANIVERSARIO who acted as the co-lead unit. The entrapment operation was also supported by the team from RA-RID9 led by PCPT DEXTER R DALENA, 902nd, RMFB9 and Kumalarang MPS led by PCPT REY MELVIN D. MOLINA.

The suspect, Fire Officer 3 JESSON ALBIOS CASANES, 35 years old, presently assigned at Isabela City Fire Station, Isabela City, Basilan Province and a resident of Purok Malaumon, Barangay Poblacion, Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay was arrested thru an entrapment operation after he recieved an extortion money amounting to 400,000.00 (consisting of 1 Php1000 genuine bill and 399 pieces Php 1000 bills boodle money) from a BFP applicant in exchange for a sure entry to the Bureau.

The successful arrest of the suspect was painstakingly planned both by the PNP and the BFP under the leadership of its regional director, FCSUPT RENATO MARCIAL who has been consistently advocating that hiring in the BFP does not entail any monetary consideration.

“I commend the PNP for the arrest of the suspect. This will also send a strong message to the public that we do not tolerate our personnel to engage in this kind of malpractice “, Marcial said as he encourages those personnel who were victimized by the suspect to file their complaints to the Office of the CIDG in PNP Zamboanga del
Sur Provincial Office, PRO9.

Marcial also added that this is part of their internal cleansing which is the thrust of the BFP Leadership and the Secretary of the DILG, Atty Benjamin Abalos, Jr. as well.

CITY EYES PASONANCA CONVENTION CENTER AS TEMPORARY EVAC SITE| City Social Welfare Officer Socorro Rojas and City Engineer Christopher Navarro Monday afternoon inspect the Pasonanca Convention Center, as the City Government explores the possibility of temporarily transferring the families displaced by the February 10 Kasanyangan fire and are occupying the Don GEMS Elementary School covered court.

Mayor John Dalipe Monday morning has tasked the CSWDO and CEO and other agencies concerned to explore all possibilities to immediately transfer the fire-hit families to the Pasonanca convention center or another temporary site, as the latter's stay in the school has affected classes and school operations.

The Pasonanca Convention Center was formerly used as COVID-19 Isolation Center.

Rojas said the transfer merely TEMPORARY pending preparations on the ground or the fire site, being spearheaded by the Housing and Land Management Division.

The site where the fire hit was originally called the CFSI-ARCAZ Bamboo Houses Project in Asinan, Kasanyangan which forms part of the Z3R project.

The Inter-Agency Housing Board is set to convene this week to finalize the transfer.
