First release for 2023 will be the re-mastered tapeversion of ARIES (FR) last album "Le Dernier Sacre" in cooperation with Epictural Production.
The tape is limited to 50 and will feature a feature a body print with a J-Card printed on thick paper.

Inspired by the virulent times, inner turmoil and the sound of the Dutch language, Plaagdrager (Carrier of Plagues) recorded and released their debut full-length album of aggressively melodic black metal last year. Now, under the auspices of Helhallen a remastered cassette edition of 'Rampspoed & Verdriet' is released, in a limited run of 50 copies, in black cardboard boxes with accompanying postcards.
We trail the full album with two teaser tracks, Dans Met Mij Miasma and Paradigma, to showcase the new sound, and point you towards the label Bandcamp page, where tapes can be pre-ordered ahead of the release in June.

We can finally announce a release date for our self titled debut album on Ván Records. The picture shows a detail of the entire painting done for the artwork by Kodex Barbaricus and it captures great the mood of the album.
The album was recorded again at Helhallen / Liquid Aether Audio Tonstudio. In addition to the regular mix and master, there will again be an exclusive 8-track tape mix and master, which will provide a very unique and a coherent alternative of the album.
In detail, the album will be a coherent continuation of the demo both lyrically and musically, but be surprised!

Besprechungen von Demos finden ja eher selten bis gar nicht ihren Weg auf diese Seiten, obwohl es mir natürlich auch nach über 30 Jahren in der Szene immer noch höllischen Spaß macht, die Entwicklung von Bands zu beobachten – unabhängig davon, ob es sich um absolute Jungspunde oder aber um schon erfahrene Musiker handelt. Und wenn ich selbstkritisch den eigentlichen Grund für die Abstinenz von Demo-Reviews reflektiere, dann liegt dieser auch ganz einfach in meinem Anspruch begründet, möglichst umfassende Worte zu finden, die der jeweiligen Veröffentlichung bei aller Subjektivität auch genügend objektive Empfehlungskraft mitgeben. Dann landete vor kurzem das erste Demo der Kölner Sumerian Tombs in meinem Postfach; und nach dessen ersten Durchläufen stellte ich plötzlich fest, dass es vielleicht gar nicht so verkehrt ist, Reviews ab und an auch mal kürzer zu halten, wenn es die Form vorgibt. „As Sumer thrones at night“ ist dieses 12-minütige kleine Prachtwerk betitelt und bietet sehr an die Neunziger angelehnten Black Metal. Oder – wie die Band ihren Stil selber beschreibt – Epic Vampyric Black Metal. Wem jetzt Assoziationen in Richtung England Mitte der Neunziger in den Sinn kommen, könnte falscher nicht liegen... Daher: Review lesen, Demo antesten und kaufen!

Reviews of demos rarely or never find their way on these page, although of course, even after more than 30 years in the scene, I still have great fun watching the development of bands - regardless of whether they are absolute youngsters or it is about already experienced musicians. And if I self-critically reflect on the actual reason for abstaining from demo reviews, then this is simply due to my claim to find the most comprehensive words possible, which give the respective publication enough objective recommendability despite all subjectivity. Then recently the first demo of Germanys Sumerian Tombs landed in my mailbox; and after the first runs I suddenly realized that it might not be so wrong to keep reviews shorter from time to time if the form dictates it. “As Sumer thrones at night” is the title of this 12-minute little splendid work and offers Black Metal that is very reminiscent of the nineties. Or - as the band describes their own style - Epic Vampyric Black Metal. Anyone who thinks of associations with England in the mid-nineties couldn't be more wrong ... Therefore: read the review (only in german, sorry), listen to the demo and buy it!
