Opinion: The Trump Administration’s Attack On Antifa Is More Than It Seems.

The Trump Administration declared earlier this week their intention to label the anti-fascist movement (Antifa) a "terrorist organization”. Many individuals have dismissed this as merely an ignorant act —unaware of the fact that Antifa is a movement and not, in fact, an organization. Is this the case?
Well, this was all spawned out of the recent protest sparked by the brutal murder of George Floyd. In Minneapolis, riots began, and the government needed a scapegoat. After the initial riots, outrage over police brutality only grew as more and more states rose up against injustice.
Despite this, an article by The Nation (link in the comments) shows how the FBI found no link between Antifa and the recent riots.
Over the past couple of days we have seen more and more reports of protesters being pulled aside by FBI agents and asked about their “anti-fascist sympathies”. This emerged after General William Barr complied with the Trump administration and designated Antifa as domestic terrorists.
Although it is easy to dismiss this as just a pointless action that is meant to provide a scapegoat, if nothing else, I do want to give this caution:
On Monday, February 27th, 1933, —just four weeks after Hi**er had been sworn in as chancellor of Germany, as a deal with conservative President Paul Von Hindenburg— the Reichstag building (home of the Weimar Republic’s parliament) was set ablaze. Many suspect the N***s themselves.
As a consequence of this fire, Hi**er and his N**i party took absolute power of government. They suspended civil liberties, blamed the communists for the fire, and immediately started arresting leftists (such as social democrats, socialists, communists, anarchists, trade unionists, etc).
A surprisingly low number of people know this, but actually, the first N**i concentration camp was set up to detain leftist dissidents targeted by the authoritarian reaction to the fire.
And it’s not just with the N***s, either; in all countries and everywhere, fascism seems to be more of a violent reaction to leftism than anything else. We saw this too in italy in 1919 during the Bienno Rosso, where fascist blackshirt paramilitaries violently suppressed leftists and communists all over the countryside. Then again during the spartacist uprising where the social democratic government sent in the paramilitary Freikorps to Berlin to crush the worker’s revolt.
There are countless examples of this:
From Franco’s uprising, caused by a leftist control of government; to Pinochet’s coup, caused by Marxist Salvador Allende’s presidency.
Time and time again we have seen the same: the right using the left as a scapegoat, blaming them for social unrest, jailing them en masse, and branding them terrorists.
Having said all that, is it really that much different with the Trump Administration? Is this really the “dumb move” that so many of our fellow leftists proclaim it to be? I’ll remind you that the government of the United States has used these riots as an excuse to deploy troops on the ground, and have been holding thousands of protesters prisoner, after having unconstitutionally banned them of their right to peaceful protest.
No, my friends. In fact, the fact that “Antifa” is a broad label for anyone that is anti-fascist suits their purposes quite well. Trump has been seen in interviews outwardly blaming “anarchists” for the riots. It is a well known fact that anarchist schools of thought are quite popular amongst the American left.
This is a blatant effort by the president and his administration to jail political opponents, who materially have nothing to do with the ongoing protests whatsoever, as said by the FBI themselves.
The current state of affairs, like the Reichstag fire all those years ago, provide the perfect opportunity for the authoritarian right to clamp down on their most vocal and radical opposition. And do not think for a second that it will stop there: Trump’s labeling of liberal governors as weak, radical leftists puts liberals and moderates, who are amongst Trump’s detractors, in the line of fire as well. Just like Hi**er’s parallel targeting of the more “moderate” social democrats in addition to the persecution of the radical left.
Despite the fact that liberals are not in any material capacity leftists, the Democratic Party is still the single opposition to the ruling Republicans. As such, it makes sense that they would try to craft a singular, radical leftist “enemy” for their supporters to blame the current chaos on.
The United States is on fire; the current coronavirus pandemic has caused the highest unemployment numbers in a lifetime; police brutality runs rampant. The Republicans just needed the perfect scapegoat to blame.
It is not their fault so many people are dying of Covid-19, it is China’s; it is not their fault the country is falling apart, it is the fault of rioting leftist subversives burning down cities; it is not their fault that the riots continue, it is that of weak liberal governors.
This is how authoritarian regimes are born. If we forget it, history is doomed to repeat itself.
I would like to leave you with this final, ominous note:
Recent reports have informed the people that border detention center personnel have begun dousing migrant detainees with “coronavirus disinfectant” under the pretense of preventing the spread of the disease. However, these chemicals have been causing severe burns and allergic reactions on detainees, who not only have to be exposed to the chemicals every twenty minutes, but live in extremely enclosed spaces with little to no ventilation. This means that co2 and other toxic gases released by the chemicals are in prolonged contact with the prisoners. Detainees are ingesting it, breathing it, and spending long periods of time in contact with this disinfectant.
The N***s tested the gas that they used for their gas chambers in a similar way.
The migrant “detention centers” are concentration camps. They always were. And soon they may turn into actual extermination camps.
You can dismiss our warnings as overblown, but only time will tell.
