Time to start looking at this years entries..
So far we have a good selection to consider with some real imaginative work!
The first is 'Half Life' from director Sylvia Toy St. Louis

A 73-minute fictional Arthouse movie.
LOGLINE: "Sonia, a middle aged bartender, rescues a girl being beaten by her boyfriend, who chases Sonia into the street where she is hit by a car. Badly injured, Sonia has to move into her estranged mother’s house, who shortly thereafter suddenly dies of natural causes.”

Next in to BIC-Awards is a film by Dave Hastings called Sustain.

Kieran Flank is a mild-mannered young man whose life is shattered by the death of his younger half-brother Toby, the victim of a vicious race attack.

Confronted with the shocking reality of recent fatal events, Kieran must come to terms with what has happened, the gloating thugs who have walked free from his brother’s death, as well as rebuilding his already fractured relationship with his mother Jayne (Dawn Butler).

As Kieran's life descends into turbulent chaos, one thing is for sure. He must confront those who took away his brother, along with the help of local news reporter Kara Marshdale. But what happens then, when you come face-to-face with the person who tore your family apart?

Sustain is a brutal, uncompromising thriller filmed in and around the West Midlands, UK.
