My first 3D model EVER
I have spent the last 3 days working on a 3D model to act as a drawing template for an animation project and this is the result.
PLEASE NOTE: there is no colour in this model as I was unable to put colours on the model, so it will simply remain a grey template.
I am using Blender, but I am not planning any CGI project, that would take years to study plus I prefer more practical projects. I suppose a cartoon/animation project that is drawn on the computer is a form of CGI but that doesn't matter.
The model is not 100% and it is full of flaws, however it is good enough to act as a drawing template.
It is a crown which features a piece based on the Fleur de Lis, but I have done my own design which I am calling "Fleur de Tulipe" since it seems to resemble a tulip.
This animation project is still under development and I am not ready to post anything public Yet, but I can tell you that it is a Medieval Fantasy set in another world or Iseki in Anime terms.
Drawing this crown was proving to be very difficult and time consuming, so I decided a 3D model (however primitive or flawed) would save allot of time. We shall soon see if my efforts were worth it.

I have just built 4 new Metcalfe models.
These will feature in my Railway projects.
The Pub model doesn't yet have a name and sign as I have not yet decided what it will be.
The Crofters cottages will make good terrace houses, especially for country towns/villages. They came with barns, but I have not built them yet, they will be useful for other buildings.
The Town End Cottage will be particularly useful for my upcoming project.

I AM DEVELOPING AN ANOTHER NEW FILM PROJECT (It will be a long development, it won't be a fast project)
I'm keeping it close to my chest for the present, but I can tell you this, My Railway models will be involved😊

I've built a platform for the station(s), I will use it for several stations when filming (it's more flexible to have a platform that can be used for several settings). Of course I will do one or two more platforms with different widths.
For this photo, I decided to put a couple of locos I have with some rolling stock.
The post vans pulled by the black Jinty loco have been modified to run on Bogie wheels rather than 4 wheels. I did this because they seem to derail on either curves or on points.
I am not far off being ready to start filming, just a few other things that need doing once I get my laptop back.

Built another Metcalfe kit which arrived Tuesday morning.
This is part of the upcoming Short
I also received another canopy kit to add to the other I built up the other day.
All I need to do now is the platforms and perhaps get one or two other kits, but I'm in no rush.

You'll hear more about it in time 😉
These models are Metcalfe models.
I would personally recommend building models, it is good therapy and a good means of occupying one's self.
Plus it's a healthy alternative to always being on a computer.

Thought I might aswell show you all some of my results.
This is footage from some railway videos I made within the last 3-4 years.
At the time I was using a GOPRO HERO 6, But it was limited in terms of fps in high quality.
I have one Shortfilm in the planning where I will apply the same editing techniques I improvised for the footage in this video.
There WAS music on the clips in this video, but I removed them to avoid any copyright violations, plus I made these videos for fun, not profit.

Welcome to Kheterra Sparks Productions
I am a solo amateur filmmaker, model maker and actor.
I have many projects in development and they cover several genres:
Sci-fi, Railway, Animation, war etc. etc. I have considered doing History documentary shorts, but I shall look into that later.
Most/all of my projects feature models that I have either bought or designed and built from scratch. I believe in using models, not CGI (CGI does have its uses, but I like practical visual effects more)
I am (between other projects) developing an animated series set in a Medieval fantasy. It is being done in Anime style. It's experimental so its not easy, but I have a Plan B if the animated part fails. Plan B would be to take the Voice Over recordings and turn it into an audio series instead. That way all efforts won't go to waste.
I am willing to collaborate with other film teams if they require some model sequences, such as footage of a spaceship to add between scenes.
I am slow with my work because I have several outside projects, so I only ask you to bare with me, whether you are following my work or we are working together.
