Client Testimonials are the best. 5 things to do when you're ending a project:

- Ask for a testimonial (if you don't ask, you don't get)

- Ask if they know anyone who can use your help (consider offering a small kickback when referrals sign up)

- Ask for feedback about their experience working with you (if they had to pick something to improve what would...you get it)

- Ask for permission to display the work for your portfolio (blur out sensitive stuff ofc)

- Think about their business and try to help out any other problems they might be facing (connect them to someone else, give them a resource or just bounce ideas)

If you’re starting out, this is a great way to run KDP ads for your books.

After managing an ad account for a month, you should essentially have one auto-campaign that ‘hunts’ keywords and placements to scale. You can have one manual campaign to scale the winning keywords and one for the placements (optional).
You can use this simple structure to start marketing your books. I will cover budgeting and kdp ads in more detail in future posts! Good luck.

I was on Twitch the other day and a viewer asked the streamer something he/she could easily have googled. Why?
The question might seem silly but let's over-think a little. It could be fun.

- The viewer wanted the streamer he/she chose to provide the information (and not just the information)
- The viewer wanted to interact with the streamer 1 to 1
- The viewer wanted to engage in the community (the well-known Twitch "chat")
- The viewer was too lazy to google (Unlikely to be it)

Huh.. The question actually highlights how powerful communities are.

MrBeast's feastables, what Rumble and Kick are trying to do and how influencers are able to land crazy brand deals all rely on how we form tribes and communities.

Want to start with a story of leading with value:

I refused to run ads for my client. He hired me on a retainer a week later. Here's what happened...

I was approached my an author who wanted to run ads on facebook, twitter and google because that's 'how to get awareness'. He had a extremely small budget and very little online presence.

I understood the requirements and proceeded to do a complete audit of his digital. Low search volume, lack of author brand and a general lack of buzz is what I saw. Even though running ads for him would land me a client, it wasn't the right thing for him to do.

Here were some of my recommendations to him:

- Do not run ads; you will burn money that you don't have and going broad isn't how you'll get what you want right now
- The right audience (relevant and smaller communities) is who you want to reach and see if your products are generating positive reviews
- Create organic content for the audience of your books is the way to go
- Engage in smaller online spaces where the topics of the books are discussed

I listed out ways to go about generating organic content and gave him 5 pages worth of ideas and competitor research. This is for a 'client' that I wasn't going to close because I work in PPC primarily, not organic. It was just the right thing to do

I needed to be a consultant and not a salesperson; I offered the solution even if I wasn't the one delivering at the end of it. I was happy to have helped someone save their cash.

A week later, the same guy reached out and initiated a contract on managing kdp ads on amazon.

Higher deal, no questions asked, complete trust. I had earned it.
