The main tasks of the project:

• At the first stage, create a register of all Russian companies that operate exclusively at the territory of occupied Crimea, or have their branches or representative offices at the territory of Crimea (as data sources, use the register of legal entities of the Russian Federation, information from sites for finding personnel and information from the companies sites themselves);
• To prepare a list of foreign companies that are likely to operate in occupied Crimea or cooperate with companies from Russian Federation that conduct business in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea (referring to information from the websites of companies operating in Crimea about partners, customers, information, etc.);
• To provide access to the register of companies from Russian Federation that operate at the territory of occupied Crimea to anyone; acquaint the ambassadors and foreign ministers of all partner countries with this register in order to convey information in their countries.
• We also plan to conduct a public information campaign, within the scope of which we will send an official letter clarifying the details of possible cooperation and explaining the losses from its continuation to every foreign company that probably had joint business with companies from the Russian Federation that conduct business in Crimea, and we will also prepare an appeal to the ministries of foreign affairs of various countries of the world with lists of Russian companies, cooperation with which may harm business in their countries, so that they warn business representatives about possible negative consequences. We will publish investigations on the most high-profile detected cases based on the most common detected methods of cooperation - we will create a knowledge base on ways to circumvent sanctions, to ensure their elimination.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE SANCTIONS GUARDS PROJECT

The strategic goal of the project "Sanction Guards" is to reduce the opportunities of residents of Russian Federation to avoid sanctions imposed for committing armed aggression against Ukraine and to simplify the process of identifying the assets of sanctioned individuals and legal entities - residents of Russian Federation in order to ensure their arrest and confiscation in favor of Ukraine.
To achieve the goal, our team is creating a register of companies that conduct business in the occupied territories, work for the military-industrial complex of Russia, or conduct any other activity that harms the interests of Ukraine or violates the norms of international law, cooperation with which can bring reputational and economic risks.

We're Sanctions Guards – a team of journalists and analysts whose aim is to make sanctions work better. We have already collected a lot of information about cases of international cooperation with sanctioned companies, as well as cases of sanctions circumvention by Russian companies and companies from the occupied territories of Ukraine.

In the near future, we will start publishing detailed information about violators.

If you have important and relevant information about cases of circumvention of sanctions – contact us!
