He [Satan] is busy engaged in influencing those who are wholly unsuited for each other, to unite their interests. He exults in this work, for by it he knows he can produce more misery and hopelessness to the human family than by exercising his skill in any other direction.

Exegesis

The devil knows if he manages to unite those unsuited for each other, the fights that will arise will weaken the family bond.

And Gods church is made up of families. If these families are not united how then can Gods church be united. If these families are sad how then can Gods church be happy. If the husband's and wives of these families develop hate for each other, how then can they raise Godly kids and teach them of Gods love. When the bible says husband's love your wives as Christ loves the church.

Therefore the devil knows his greatest weapon to weaken the church is to unite those unsuited for each other.

And He knows, one of the most effective way to blind fold a young couple. That they may not realize the qualities that make them unsuited for each other. Is By making sure they engage in lustful gratifications.

For like a drug such indulgences will weaken the mind to all reasonable and righteous thought until it's too late.

Matt.5.13 - "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

A Christianity that keeps you away from interacting with certain people. Is a false Christianity.

You can not tell that there is no salt in food by only looking at it.

And salt can not add it's savor to food from a distance. We are called to be the salt of the world.

Now Salt can either make you enjoy the food or make you fail to eat the food.

Let your saltness not make people fail to see the lord's love and goodness. It doesn't really matter if you are the one in the right . If your rightness is being expressed in such a way that it makes more people hate what the Lord stands for.

Was the devil right?

The devil managed to convince one third of the Angels in heaven to side with him against God. But what was his argument exactly. And he should have been very convincing in order for such a large number of these wise and superior beings we call angels to believe him and side with him.

So what was his argument exactly? You see the devil began whispering in the other angels ears that this God we serve is not fair.

He says he has given us free will yet he does not allow us to do what ever we want. And he only wants us to continue doing what he wants. When ever we do what we want ourselves he punishes us. This God is not a fair God, he is very selfish.

And so the devil presented his argument to the other angels day by day and day by day more angels began to believe him.

Now from a distance it may look like the devil was somehow right. Has the thought ever crossed your mind about why God can not just allow you to live your life the way you want to live it. Why should he punish you when you do what you feel like doing instead of his will.

To explain this allow me to use the example of a child, a parent and a stranger.

Imagine this child who has this father who the child does not like very much because the child feels like his father does not allow him to do the things he wants to do.

One day the child meets this stranger who informs him that the father does not have the child's best interest at heart.

And the child should decide to rebel and start doing all the things the father has refused him to do.

The child seems to like this stranger and his way of thinking and even decides to take the strangers advice.

Now do you think that's a responsible and loving thing to say to a child. And if the child decides to take that route do you think the child will live long before doing something to himself that will injure him or even end his life. Am sure you are wise enough to have the right answer to that question.

The same is true with relation to our relationship with God and the lies that the devil whispers to us.

The devil has not changed his argument even today. Except today he whispers to us through our thoughts and desires to sin and rebel against God. And just like the wrong and dangerous advice given to the child. Which to the child sounds very nice and interesting the same happens to us.

The God we serve is a loving and responsible father. And just like any loving father he knows what's best for us and has given us proper instructions on how to live our lives. But the devil comes and whispers lies to us. And many of us like children believe the lie.

Now I don't know what the devil's lies have caused you to do and the problems that have resulted from those actions. But what ever it is and no matter how bad it is. before it becomes worse the God we serve is a loving and forgiving father. He will accept you back no matter how far you think you have gone. The Bible says in

1John.1.9

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)

Talk to your father today ask him for forgiveness and renew your relationship with him. He is waiting to embrace you with love.

Scripture Digestion*

Title: A Manifesto under a tree.

Genesis 3.

You see we all know that sin is wrong just as Eve knew that what the devil was suggesting was wrong.

Notice also that the actual fruit that the devil was using was not made to look delicious by the devil but by God himself who made it.
The Reason is because everything God had created was good. Why should that fruit be an exception. And infact it wasn't the only delicious looking fruit. All the other fruits in the garden were also looking tasty maybe even more.

But the issue comes with the questions the devil asked which seemed to suggest that God had refused them to eat of all the fruits. And when Eve herself answered saying just this one has been forbidden. In her mind curiosity asked but why just this one.

And as if he could read her mind the devil provided a wrong answer to the question in her mind. And Eve because of the desire she already had for the fruit believed the lie and ate the fruit.

On the other hand when the fruit was offered to Adam. Adam ate the fruit not because he was deceived but because of the desire he had for the wife.

And this many times remains true even today for men and women. Woman find themselves in sin because of the desire for many other things. And Men find themselves in sin because of the desire for women.

One other thing that would have stopped Eve from eating of the fruit was the death penalty associated with the fruit. But the devil downplayed the consequences of sin in the mind of Eve as he does to us today. Saying just do it the consequences will not be as bad as you think .

But usually the consequences are even worse than we could imagine. For Eve's bite of that fruit wether small or big led to the death of God himself on the cross.

Lastly it's very true that the fruit was very pleasing to look at. However that doesn't mean God created it so that it should be looked at and eaten.
