Fully enclosed and secure.
Adequate shade and shelter.
Pull down shade blind.
Hardwood runs.
Stability leg on the back.

To be moved daily so night time manure is evenly distributed throughout the lawn. 👍

Had to cull one of my chickens today for the first time.

For anyone out there that thinks they will be in the position where they will have to do it.

Relax. The whole process happens very fast.
I made a kill cone from an old roadside cone. (top trimmed)
Used a very sharp knife (one that I managed to cut myself on before even starting)
An old pot under to catch the blood.

My chicken got an eye infection and after treating for 14 days in isolation with slight improvement then took a turn for the worst this morning.

Don’t feel bad for putting something out of pain. When you’ve done the best you could.

Now laying in peace in my garden where I’ll plant a nice bush over in the next few days.

Just thought I’d share that.

Caught this blue tongue in my garden earlier.
Removed 15 ticks from it and back out to snail patrol it goes.
It’s awesome how once animals realise you’re there to help they somewhat give in and let you.
