UPND HAS FAILED TO MANAGE THE FUEL SUPPLY CHAIN
UPND made citizens believe that once in government, its policies in the energy sector will be impressive.
The opposite has happened. The fuel supply chain for the country has been mismanaged and the negative impact of its policies has been felt by citizens.
The petroleum sub sector is clearly in a mess and OMCs are predicting fuel price at next review to reach K 32 per litre.
Shockingly, only one supplier ( Agro_Fuel) has been authorized to procure fuel. This is a serious public concern requiring immediate correction.
Urgent public policy review is needed to ensure both the price paid by consumer is affordable and the fuel reaches the service stations in good time.

CITIZENS FIRST PARTY PRESS STATEMENT ON SHRINKING DEMOCRACY IN OUR COUNTRY
Today the Citizens First Party has not managed to file in it's nominations in Mwandi Sankolonga ward due to the thuggery and tribal behavior of the UPND which will be reported to the police and hope that the Police will take action against them..
Our candidate was not able to file in the papers as their documents were grabbed from them by known UPND cadres who hurled threats on our candidate.
The cadres also threatened our candidate saying we are not supposed to go and disturb them in their region or territory. This trend has continued and each time there is a by election in the area they so call their strong hold, we see them intimidate their opponents unlike in other areas where everyone is freely allowed to participate in our democracy.
The UPND must be reminded that this country belongs to all of us and we have the right to participate in elections regardless of the region where elections are taking place.
The people of Zambia expect a better cost of living they promised and not intimidating their opponents. We will not continue watching our democracy being destroyed by this undemocratic party in government.

Today is dedicated to teachers globally.
The critical role played by the teachers in building a fortified and formidable nation can not be ignored.
´I am because they are."
Teachers go through serious challenges to build a holistic human being fit for society. However, their conditions remain hostile to motivate quality service delivery and individual enhancement.
A demotivated teacher produces a premature citizen. As we commemorate this day. Government must as a matter of urgency attend to the following ;
1. SALARY INCREMENT
The ever increasing fuel prices have affected the movement of teachers to their work places since accommodation is still a challenge. The transport allowance is haunted by the ever increasing fuel prices. The high cost of living demands a serious consideration on the salary increment as we face 2024 to enable our teachers survive the excruciating economic hardships.
2. ACCOMMODATION
The building of schools must be in conformity with the building of houses for teachers.
3. HOUSING ALLOWANCE
Some teachers aren't receiving housing allowance despite being in houses which are not descent for their proper habitation in the name of it being a government house. In urban areas, housing allowance doesn't meet the rental demands.
4. TEACHER CONFIRMATION
Most teachers have been in acting positions for many years without being confirmed or upgraded.
5. MARKING ALLOWANCE
Teachers work tirelessly in the areas they are assigned like marking of examinations and co-curricular activities. However, they are paid less after marking and unpaid allowances has become the order of the day.
6. WELFARE
The Teaching Council of Zambia should also get interested in the welfare of teachers to cement the correlation between professionalism and societal image of a teacher.
7. RURAL PAY
Rural hardship allowance must be 100% of the basic pay in order to motivate teachers serving in rural areas.
