Physiological adaptions to training are highly specific to the training.
You want to get strong lift heavy in the desired plan of motion.
You ant to get fast practice doing that activity fast.
You want to be conditioned for endurance cardio do endurance cardio.

This chapter of the book focuses adaptions to anaerobic and aerobic training.

It quotes a study where aerobic athletes where asked to conducted vo2max related test on a incline treadmill and also in there specific sport the study found the athletes scored higher when conducting the specific trained sport.

Why ? When they are both aerobic based tasks there body had better adapted to efficiently conduct there specific sport related tasks.

Eating for muscle growth it’s suggested you eat 1.6-2.2g of protein to encourage a anabolic state whilst training to grow anabolic just means essentially that your body’s ina state where it wants to grow your in abundance of nutrients and macros your calories are surprising the amount needed to maintain your current body composition.
This extract suggest spacing your protein intake over 4 meals for example if you weigh 90kg (bw) x 1.6g (protein)= 144g (bw/p) \ 4 = 36g per meal eating like this may help you hit your protein goal for the day whilst have the added Benefit of engaging your metabolism through out the day. Also your body can only absorb so much nutrients at one time.

This section of the book discusses anatomical planes and the Anatomy of your muscles, the strength of a muscle at different points in a lift .if you have a goal to maximise the size of your muscle there are many things to consider out side of your intensity and volume as that muscle or group of muscles primary responsibility is to facilitate movement through contracting to maximise the size of that muscle all angles must be explored r.o.m,angle of lift,lift variation,type of anchor or grip the weight is held by/with,
You can preform thousands of movements everyone requiring the contraction of a muscle fibre to happen To maximise growth potential as many of those fibres as possible must be exposed to a hypertrophy inducing stimulus.
