Looking at neighbours be like! We are standing just 2.2kms from POK 😀
You can now visit Thang - The northernmost village of India.
In 1971 Indian Army Reclaimed 3 villages from POK and after almost 50 years this village is open for tourists.You can see bunkers of both India and Pakistan.
You can actually meet the people who got separated from their families and listen to the stories.

Ladakh is a feeling.
We get messages asking if 3-4 days in Ladakh are sufficient ? 🙈 Dish*t and I just laugh off and wonder how to answer this question. I mean it’s been a year since we came back from Ladakh but this place is a part of us since then. Ladakh is beyond words to be very honest.

On the way to Hampi.
A road trip is always an exciting way to explore the beauty of nature and experience the local culture. The route to Hampi from Bengaluru is super scenic and you will want to make pitstops multiple times. On both sides of the road are windmills and this time around it was all filled with marigold and sunflower fields. The sky and clouds make it even more pretty.
To be honest this is one place I loved from all my heart in Southern of part of India.

If there is a place in Leh that was peaceful and not crowded was this Gompa. This is situated at the highest point in town on a hilltop and visible from all parts of Leh.
Tsemo Castle (Fort) and Tsemo monastery is visible from all parts of Leh town. Tsemo is reachable by road, taking a short turn from Leh-Khardungla pass road. You’ll get the best bird’s eye view of entire town from here. It is situated right above Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa is also visible from here.
Go during the sunset and climb up till the castle. Castle has an entry fee and gets closed by 5:30pm.

Did you know about this Floating Church in Karnataka?
Build by the French missionaries in India during 1860s, this church is a gorgeous example of Gothic-style architecture. The area around the church got deserted after the construction of the Hemavati Dam and a reservoir (Gorur Dam) in the year 1960; later, the church too was forgotten.
The fact that this church remains submerged in water during monsoons makes it so special. If you happen to visit the place during peak monsoon season, only one-third of the chapel could be visible. This is why it’s called “Floating Church “ or “The Submerged Church”
This is in Shettihalli village in Hassan District, Karnataka.
Approx 200 Km from Bengaluru.
We visited in April ‘2023 & were amazed by this place.
You can cover it on your way back from Coorg just like we did.

Memories from this day are etched in our hearts forever & beyond.
This is not just a check off from travel bucket list this is an emotion beyond words.
The Highest Motorable Pass 📍Umling La , 19024 Feet above sea level. This is above Mt Everest Base Camp. Isn’t it Amazing?
This is very close to Demchok village at Indo- China border &Demchok village is half in India , half in China . Even the people of the same village aren’t allowed to go beyond the boundaries.
Don’t be surprised if your phone shows time as per china time zone.
Route taken - Hanle to NorbuLa top to Umling La (80Kms one side approx)
There is a dirt road on this route & you just have to follow the tyre marks till you find a concrete road & then take a left.
I remember locals warning us not to take the right else we’ll reach China & this wonderful neighbour country isn’t fond of Indians 😅

In this temple of lightning(Bijli) , it is said that the tall staff attracts the divine blessings in the form of lightning. Every 12 years, the Shiv lingam is struck by lightning which causes the lingam to break into pieces. The priest then wraps the broken lingam with butter and after few days the lingam becomes as it was.

We attended Ladakh Day celebration function in Leh and enjoyed every bit of it.
It was somewhat similar annual day function at school however everyone was dressed in Ladakhi Attires & show cased their culture through dance performances.
It was such an unplanned Special day for us on our trip to Ladakh ♥️

40 days in Ladakh - Full of Adventure on the unknown roads ♥️
Approx 1800km of no roads , early mornings , sleepless nights , surviving on Maggi/Eggs , struggle of finding places to stay in remote parts of Ladakh and so much more that can’t be put into words.
The Map you see in the pic is how our Ladakh journey looks like.It’s the closest Google Maps can show😌. We started from Manali towards Zanskar via ShinkuLa , then to Kargil via Rangdum & then Leh via Lamayuru. After Spending 10 adventurous days in Zanskar Region of Ladakh we made Leh as our Base for almost a month and explored other parts of this beautiful Union Territory.
If you see carefully in the map we almost touched the borders - Demchok(UmilingLa) near India - China Border & Thang near India Pakistan Border.
Most itineraries of Ladakh would vary from 7 to 10 days but trust us Ladakh has a lot to offer. It isn’t a place to just tick off from your bucket list. Ladakh is beyond that and it’s more like an emotion ♥️ Not because of it’s landscapes or the World Famous Pangong Tso but because of it’s people, culture , ladakhi food and that contagious smile on every Ladakhi’s face.
