Wow! What a journey. Words can’t express how much we appreciate y’all but here goes…

When we started this pod we never thought anyone would be interest in listening to our self-indulgent ramblings about movies, tv shows and music that we happened to like.

We surely underestimated just how much people all around the world have also connected with Asian cinema.

It is certainly an exciting time for Asian-driven cinema in both the East and the West, and it has been our absolute pleasure to contribute to the discourse, while also hopefully introducing some people to the joy these works can bring.

Thanks to all our beautiful guests for sharing our journey! Thanks to all our wonderful listeners for making this all worth while! And thanks to all the creatives out there for giving us something to talk about!

Language: Mandarin
Genre: Horror crime comedy

Synopsis: A corrupt cop is ordered to retrieve a bag of stolen diamonds within 48 hours. His search leads him to a a remote village, where he and his gang encounter a group of suspicious locals who are full of ghost stories.

Now streaming on Disney+

Review: Enjoyable slapstick and a range of over-the-top performances make for a fun - albeit flawed - movie. This film perhaps suffers from having one genre too many, as the tone can be a bit confused at times. But if you lean into it and just embrace the silliness, there's a lot of fun to be had. 6 out of 10.

Review: Strong performances, moody atmosphere, and some relatable elements bring out the best in this found footage horror. Chock full of the tropes of the format such as cheap jump scares followed by panicked running, but it is fun to watch if you're looking for a straight forward scary time. 7 out of 10.
