A powerful 7.8 magnitude earthquake has hit Gaziantep in south-eastern Turkey, killing at least 2,000 people in Turkey and Syria. According to the US Geological Survey, the tremor struck at 04:17 local time at a depth of 17.9km (11 miles) near the city of Gaziantep.
