It’s so rewarding when I can step away from work and enjoy the music made by our wonderful colleagues! The Houston String Quartet with Laura Witt on harp and Marion Dickson singing performed at my son’s wedding. World class! Oh and leading the group and on the organ is John Gearhart. I’m so thankful to these wonderful musicians!

Just wrapped up the final weekend for Andrés Orozco-Estrada who leaves the Houston Symphony after an eight year tenure (minus the Covid year he wasn’t allowed to enter the states). He chose an easy little work as his send off…Mahler Symphony No.2. So we brought all the big guns and thought we’d do it right! Many thanks to my assistant engineer Giancarlo Minotti who has gone from mixing in his bedroom to wrangling 45 mics and taking care of my mix for the livestream...in only 6 months! Enjoy this presentation!

I edited, mixed, and mastered this soundtrack then re-synched it to the film. This is a stellar Composition by Joe Williams. I remember when TCM was holding competitions to score these old films. I wish more would do this. Such a rich history in film that would be enjoyed with a brand new score. Treat yourself and try to catch this presentation!

Members of the consortium will premiere the work in the 2021 and 2022 seasons, with the first performance by Matthew Roitstein and pianist David Roitstein at the National Flute Association’s 2021 convention.⁠
