Neural DSP Archetype - Gojira WITH A BASS!

Here it is the Neural DSP Archetype Gojira with a bass! I know everyone has heard and done videos of it with a guitar, but I haven't seen anyone do one with a bass so I decided to do one!
The bass audio was record straight into the Audient ID44 (link below) going into Presonus Studio One 5 with the only processing done to it was the Neural DSP plug-in itself, just the plain preset with gain adjustments coming in to account for clipping. That way you can hear the raw audio like how you would if you plugged in right away without mixing it! Hope you guys enjoy, let down in the comments what you guys thought!

Everyone's tried the Neural DSP Archetype Gojira plug-in with a guitar, because well it's a guitar plug-in, so I decided to try something different and plug in a bass. I picked out a few presets that were interesting or unique for the bass instead the typical throaty chainsaw sounds we always here in modern metal, although there is a good distortion sound in there!

Neural DSP Archetype - Gojira... With A Bass!

Normally this plug-in amp sim is for guitars, but nowadays with the crazy sounds bass players are using on modern metal albums today I thought I'd see what tones I could get. There are definitely some great modern metal distortion tones in there but the weird more experimental sounds were more fun to play around with here on this plug-in! So I put together a video showing some of the cool presets the plug-in comes with that I thought were pretty cool sounding for the bass, and had a ton of potential if you tweaked them a bit!

How To Get A Better Bass Tone!

You Want To Know How To Get A Good Bass Guitar Tone?

CHANGE YOUR STRINGS!!! That's pretty much it! If want to be able to capture a half way decent bass sound put on a new pair of strings and when you tune keep hitting the string...don't hit the string once and tune till you get the right note. Keep hitting it repeatedly the way you would hit when you record because that's why your bass is actually in tune. Fresh strings will go out of tune faster so tune you bass play for a bit then check your tuning, correct if needed, then track you parts and tune after take or couple of takes!
If you want that true studio sound make sure it's a good bass first and that it has that midrange bite you need for metal! Listen to the bass unplugged and if it sounds clanky. metallic and vibrates against your chest chance are it'll sound good. Then get a good D.I. which will make a huge difference, I know most these interfaces have a "D.I." input but they just don't have the sound of say a Tech21 SansAmp! Use a Pick, I know. but for metal it just sounds better. And don't forget the distortion!!!
Then just follow the 3 fader aspect I should here and you should be golden with your metal bass sound!
