THE BRAND DEAL PROCESS⬇️
1. Negotiate payment according to creative brief
2. Include your own terms in the contract to be signed i.e
- Non refundable deposits
3. For content approval, send your script for approval for any additions, deletions by the brand before actually shooting your content. Make sure that they don’t overtake your creative freedom, this is why this optional.
4. After shooting content, watermark your content for approval so it can’t be used without your authorisation, this is just for safety purposes.
5. After posting, you can now send an invoice for the remaining balance of the payment.
Now you’ve got it, happy creating!
HOW TO NEGOTIATE YOUR RATE WITH BRANDS ⬇️. ❌ DON’T SAY - “I’m flexible on payment”✅INSTEAD SAY - “While I’m open to discussion, I have a standard rate. Let’s talk about how we can make the compensation work for both of us.” ❌ DON’T SAY - “Sure, that’s fine with me” (it you are afraidto negotiate)✅INSTEAD SAY - “I am very excited about this collaboration! I will review the terms and compensation and I will get back to you shortly.” ❌ DON’T SAY - “My rate for an ad video is P1500 + 20% usage per month” (even if that’s the truth)✅ INSTEAD SAY - “My current rate for an ad video is P2000 +30% usage per month” (always anchor higher and go down from there). ❌DON’T SAY - “I would really prefer if you’d match my rates.”✅INSTEAD SAY - “Would you be able to match my rates?Considering my experience, skills and the value I can provide through my content (state the value), this is my market value at the moment.”REMEMBER THESE 3 THINGS WHEN NEGOTIATING WITH BRANDS1. OFFER OPTIONS - With this technique, you give the brand and opportunity to choose which makes them feel as though they have control.Provide two options for the brand to choose from with two different prices. That way you don’t feel as you are risking complete rejection or ghosting!2. HAVE CONFIDENCE - This is key as it allows you to assert yourself properly. Don't feel pressured to give in straight away. If you are confident in your abilities, hold your ground and know vour worth.3. HIGHER PRICE - Always go in with a higher price than what you actually would like. This allows you to have some buffer room to negotiate down. Was this post helpful for you? SAVE this for laterFOLLOW Tsitsi K for more tips
