Matt had so much fun flying my Warbird RAGE P51 Mustang, he bought his own. Instead of the Mustang, he picked up the F4U Corsair. This is another great scale park flyer. It has a gyro that can be set a beginner intermediate or expert. As you will notice, we picked a bad day to fly. I am swapping my bodies on the SCX24 Jeep Wranglers. While I am doing this I am adding differential skids, Hot Racing steering linkage and a Club 5 bumper. Matt and I took the SCX24 Gladiators to LeRay Lake for some outdoor micro crawling. This is the same location that is normally home to the 1:10 scale crawlers. I have been wanting a functioning RTT on my RC's for a long time. I just didn't know how to make one. Along came the new SCX24 Gladiator with a RTT shell. I wonder can it be modified? I think so. Come see how I did it.

I've had it with the indoor course I built last winter. Its big and bulky, with very few drivable trails. Infact the Deadbolt is too big for the course. It is ugly and takes too much space in the garage. Time to take a lesson from my model train days and go long and narrow. Come along and see the demo, and the start of the 3-level course that is over 10 feet long.

Time to widen the stance of the SCX24 Deadbolt. This mod will work on the other SCX24s as well. However, I had a major issue with the install...follow along to see what it was, if you will have it, and how to overcome it.

I received a New Bright RC Jeep as a gift recently. Lets see how well this handles crawling around the local lake. This Jeep is also about the same scale as the hated cheap basher truck. I will run them side by side to see just how bad the truck is.

This week we are looking at a cheap RC car 4x4 basher. This one can be found at Harbor Freight (link is below) for less than $20.00. It runs on 6 “AA” batteries that are not included. Matt and I ran this out at the lake and had a lot of fun. Surprisingly this is quite capable for its size. However, there are some limitations and short comings. Again, it was less than $20.00. Next in the cheap RC Christmas gift series is a $99.00 RC airplane made by RAGE. This is about a 1:24 scale fully assembled, RTF airplane with what they call PASS (Pilot Assist Stability Software). In other words a total newbie should be able to fly it. We will see!!! The Pass can be turned off for a more advanced flyer too. This is a outdoor park flyer. Do I recommend this? Is it worth the $100? Watch and find out.

I bought a second cheap ($39.99) RC car. This is supposed to be a "basher." The hobby store said they sell a lot of them around Christmas, but don't know much about them. Is it worth $40? Is it fun? I know, I know, this is shocking! Well, maybe not. In this video I am installing new internal spring shocks on the Axial 10iii. These shocks add a lot of options for fine tuning for your application. So far I am very happy with these. I may end up doing more fine tuning in the future. I will say that the ultra light springs are too light for the 10iii. They were unable to hold the Jeeps weight. I broke the rear transmission on my first day of running the Ruckus. Now its time to fix it. It starts out looking like a quick and easy fix...but nope. Actually if I could have ordered the single gear I stripped it would have been easy. However, the only way to get any parts for the transmissions would be to order a fully assembled transmission.
