A woman, 24, who is much younger than her granddad, an 85-year-old man, got married.
Miracle Pogue, 24, of Starkville, Mississippi, first met her husband Charles Pogue, 85, in 2019 while they were both working in a laundromat. The two grew close friends very quickly.
After dating the nurse for a year, retired real estate agent Charles eventually decided to confess his love, and in February 2020, he made an engagement proposal.
In an effort to ensure that Charles leaves behind a new generation and because Charles is childless, the couple is considering IF in the hopes of conceiving a child.
It was tougher to persuade Miracle's father, Kareem Phillips, 47, than her mother Tamika Phillips, 45, and grandfather Joe Brown, 72, who both supported the relationship from the beginning after seeing how happy the elderly made her.
Charles used to come in with one article of clothes and only want me to serve him, Miracle said when asked about how their relationship started when she was working at the launderette.
Write down your number, he said as he strolled in, dropping a piece of paper on the ground. like a player, actually.
My brilliant armoured knight, he was."
He didn't make me feel strange, and we seemed to click. He made me feel at ease, and the talk was wonderful. Despite not knowing his actual age, I sensed he was older." It had been a few months since I first met him and I had feelings for him when I realised I was in too deep. He was still going to be my baby and wouldn't be leaving.
