Hey yall!

Sorry we’re not the best posters on this page (Meta can’t seem to auto link our Insta and Facebook correctly 🤣), highly recommend following us on Instagram for more consistent updates!

So far this year we’ve done another March Dramness and of course a bunch of other epsiodes that I’ll catch us up on posting here soon. For now, here’s March Dramness!

Over several weeks, we took 16 samples (4 from each Bourbon Matters guy including Roberto!) that were supposed to be findable whiskeys and sampled them blind. The results were so interesting, ignoring that Jake R won on a technicality on his definition of “findable” - we’ll be more rigorous next go round).

#2 was Fighting C**k which is definitely pretty findable and we recommend giving it a whirl if you haven’t!

Our final episode was live on YouTube and Instagram which we had a blast doing. Find all the episodes whereever you stream or watch!

Probably one of the best value whiskeys out there! You can’t find many good 15 years under $70

EPISODE: MARCH DRAMNESS
Our first bracket, such a fun time entering in our bottles, blind tasting and guessing what was what. We learned a lot about our palates with this!

LOCAL DISTILLERY: DEVILS RIVER
Since moving back to San Antonio, Roberto’s been trying out the local whiskey events and distilleries. Just two weeks back he stumbled upon and loved it! Great sips and even better staff and owners.

BOTTLE: HARD TRUTH SWEET MASH RYE

Hard Truth's floral and spicy notes are everything that a rye should be. The 109 proof helps keep the rye flavorful, but drink like a lower Proof whiskey.

EPISODE: OLD ELK-TOBER SERIES

The Hunt for Old Elk-tober was a blast. Getting to try the full range of one distillery's expressions was awesome. The very different mash bills and flavor profiles made for an exciting bracket.

LOCAL DISTILLERY: WHISKEY ACRES

The guys first learned about whiskey acres at a good eagle master class, where the group helped select the store’s next barrel pick. Jake and Dan were impressed with the barrel proof bourbon, and decided that they’d head to the distillery for their Glass Gem Bourbon limited release the following week. They guys got a tour, and Jake ended up taking home a half barrel for the studio. The pride and attention to detail is evident when visiting the distillery, and their whiskey keeps getting better and better!

As we wrap up year one of , the guys are sharing their fav bottle, episode and local distillery from 2022! First up, ! Check in the next few days for Jake and Roberto’s!

BOTTLE: JACK BONDED
Dan has a strong bias against Jack Daniels as he is not a fan of their product line. However, after trying Jack Bonded on the show, he went out and bought a bottle the next day. Dan thinks this Jack Bonded is one of the easiest drinking whiskies at its $30 price point.

EPISODE: 22 - 4TH DRAM & GOAL CROSSOVER
The crossover gave the an opportunity to visit with some new whiskey lovers and talk sports and bbq.

LOCAL DISTILLERY: BARNSTORMER
The visit allowed the guys to see hands on how a small, family owned and operated distillery operates. The owners are a joy to be around, the atmosphere is fantastic, and it is the only distillery that let graze on the ingredients.

The guys welcome back Jake Cigelnik from Gold Eagle to close out the year with a couple Holiday Season drams: High West's Midwinter Night's Dram and Dancing Goat's Limousin Rye finished in Port Barrels aka. "The Poor Man's Dram."
