Posting for the kids as they are raising funds for wrestling season.

They’re taking preorders for a new bracelet that has immense meaning to all of us.

If you would like to preorder please message or comment to me how many you would like. The bracelets are $5/each and the proceeds will help fund registration, lodging, travel expenses and more for their season.

Follow your heart. Do what’s right for you. It’s great to consider how your choices will affect the people around you. Just know you don’t need everyone’s approval to be happy.

Spent the evening watching movie Believe. Having 4 wrestlers, and Beast enduring concussions, ptsd, inpatient therapy and SI it was amazing to see Helen’s bravery in sharing her story. Thank you for helping develop this movie. All 4 of our wrestlers had amazing takeaways. Of course the Fireteam had to represent 🖤 thank you for helping grow girls wrestling! outstanding work!

She’s tough, and the chosen suffering she has endured as a wrestler allows her to navigate with a smile through her unchosen struggles such as this week’s Epilepsy testing protocol (in search of answers). We hope and pray you find answers to aid in your treatment Sophia. Make lemonade. Its your only choice. You define you.”

💜 update 💜

Beast returned to school today. Prayers for no rumors and a safe day. She’s cleared for school as they watch her the entire time, however, she is not cleared to ride the bus. So adjustments are having to be made significantly amongst the household.

The next few weeks are heavily monitored due to the new type of seizure. In the past, she’s had tonic clonic seizures which are accompanied by convulsions. However, Thursday and Friday she experienced clusters of a new type of seizure that could be similar to absent seizures - no convulsions - and are very hard to notice unless you’re paying attention to her. She seized for 17 min Thursday and 22 min Friday.

Due to the onset of new seizures, she will have some tests done over the next few weeks.

💜 30 min eeg to appease insurance
💜 mri
💜 inpatient eeg where we will be at the hospital up to 5 days but they’re hopeful for 24-48 hours. They will be weaning her off meds hopeful to instigate seizure activity to capture data. This means prepping for some extreme exhaustion after the testing and we are released. I am required to be with her 24/7 during this stay.
💜 hormone testing
💜 genetic testing

While we do this, Tommy is prepping to leave in the next couple weeks with the marine corps. Please be patient and kind with our family during this time. If you would like to send a positive/encouraging message or something to help distract Sophia during her inpatient testing feel free to contact me. I’m working on a hospital bag.

If Sophia seizes between now and her inpatient eeg they will emergency admit it her to do the eeg sooner.

Eta: in true life fashion, kid 1, 3 and 4 all got hit with strep. Throw some extra prayers we can keep it from hitting Sophia as any illness can trigger seizures. Everyone’s on antibiotics and only 3 and 4 are home today.

Healing takes work. ❤️‍🩹 Trauma after trauma I’ve had a million excuses/justifiable reasons to spiral - and continue to spiral. This is your reminder that no matter what you are facing you can always choose better for yourself.

- death of parents (unexpected)
- death of multiple loved ones (some in traumatic ways)
- abandonment
- anxiety
- depression
- substance abuse
- manipulation
- gaslighting
- taken advantage of
- medical trauma with loved ones

[also, friendly reminder, never compare traumas. Just because you have not experienced the same depths doesn’t mean it’s not traumatic for you and the same goes in reverse. Give yourself grace. I’m rooting for you. 🖤]

It’s been a very long journey that i have shared lots of highs and lows. ✨ Recently, i received official word that i no longer meet the requirements for PTSD diagnosis. ✨

I have spent YEARS in multiple therapies, learning all the coping skills, taking medications and more. I never thought this day would come but i prayed for it and kept working towards it.

While I’ll never be “rid” of ptsd as it lays dormant and can be triggered at any point, i am celebrating this huge achievement that I’ve worked so hard for.

I cannot begin to list everyone i want to thank for helping me, supporting me, believing in me, praying for me and more. Thank you so much to my husband who forced me to start this journey back in May 2010.

Lord knows this past year has thrown all kinds of extreme stressors/traumas my way and i never ran to alcohol or let myself fall into old habits. Instead, i put my head down, fought hard for my mental health and continued the process to healing. God is so good and while i have celebrated this privately for a bit, i wanted to share because if it gives even just one person hope than it’s absolutely worth it.

I’m back!!!! 🖤 My first day is tomorrow & I’m so excited! Set up my office space & it’s almost complete, just need to hang a few things.

The past 2.5 years i have worked heavily on my mental health, sobriety, physical health (currently ongoing), marriage & parenting.

This time was immensely needed & while i did side jobs as well as volunteered, I have missed working.

I’m blessed to start my jobs tomorrow that allow me to work from home. Work/Life balance is at the forefront of my mind cause I’ve been clutch at going full work mode in the past. I’m also very blessed that both bosses are huge fans of my volunteer work & absolutely encourage me to continue.

Thank you to those who have supported me through this journey. Thank you to the ones who clap when good things happen. I appreciate all the prayers, encouragement, positive vibes and genuine support! 🖤

Shoutout to GySgt. Tommy Perez because I know he’s far too humble to celebrate or accept gratitude for this monumental day. If you see him please help us thank him and remind him we see all he does for those around him, not just us!

17 years ago you stepped on those yellow footprints embarking on one of the most honorable careers in one’s lifetime.

Arguably just a boy still, you chose to better yourself and change the course of generational choices in your family and selflessly help your fellow man.

You’ve continued to uphold that commitment with extreme honor, courage, integrity and have a heart born to lead your junior marines both in their military careers and personal life.

If it weren’t for the marine corps we may have never met. The kids and I are so proud of you. You are our own personal hero and have instilled that passion in our children to help others. T is following your footsteps and i couldn’t be more proud of his choice for a mentor to embark on this journey.

We love you. We may not always agree with the Marine Corps decisions for our family, but we definitely agree with supporting and loving you from the homefront!

When times get hard i pull up old homecoming videos. It reminds me how much i can overcome and that there are moments where everything else stops and i see my children run to their father.
