When I started this project, the idea was to have sound beds for editing videos, but as I went further and further into the process of learning how to write the type of song I needed, I fell in love with the process. A lot has happened rather quickly, a year ago I don’t think I knew I had the capabilities of producing a full-length album that was up to a standard where I was happy with the finished product.

The process of writing for me is pure experimentation, I can’t really think up a tune in my mind and then go “Oh the melody does this and resolves to this hook, then the drop is here” No I have to sit down in front of Ableton and draw out midi notes and see what it sounds like, once I know the progression of the song I can then practice playing it by hand on a piano or keyboard and then record it, but the majority of where this comes from is me sitting in front of Ableton for 13 hours a day.

A lot of the time its something just for me to learn from or put aside for later when I know what I need to make that progression work, I think it is important to allow yourself room as an artist to make mistakes in the creation process, because of that I’ve shed a lot of skin writing this album.

some major dynamics in my life have been able to develop and resolve, hearing it back reminds me of what I was feeling. I hope people enjoy it for what it is, where I’m at now, is learning how to make this into a performance, once I figure that I’ll really be off to the races!
