India's assertive stance over and the reserved assembly seats warrants global scrutiny. The United Nations Security Council's call for a plebiscite is evident—India's actions challenge international mandates.

A potent reminder: Kashmir's future isn't India's exclusive decision, emphasizing an alleged deviation from Article 25 of the UN Charter. This is illustrated by India's 2019 occupation and annexation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Crucially, Kashmir's historical struggle predates the 1846 British transfer, revealing the issue's complexity. Unrest in Kashmir transcends mere territorial claims; it encapsulates a profound yearning for freedom, acknowledged by global organizations like Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International.

The entire Kashmiri populace, as described by UN delegate Saima Saleem, confronts a "classic colonial-settler project" under India's robust tactics.

The Kashmiri struggle signifies a legitimate, lawful resistance—against India's perceived oppressive occupation. The global community must scrutinize India's actions and seek accountability for alleged war crimes.

India's expanding global influence, reflected in incidents with the Sikh leaders in Canada and the US, necessitates careful consideration. These events raise legitimate concerns about India's conduct on the international stage, prompting candid attention and condemnation.

Irrespective of India's claims, it's crucial to affirm that Kashmir inherently belongs to the Kashmiris, beyond the realm of unilateral decisions.

Iran has reignited its space ambitions by successfully launching a rocket carrying an indigenous capsule, setting the stage for potential human missions. The Salman rocket, developed by the Ministry of Defence, propelled a 500kg (1,100 pounds) biological capsule into orbit at a distance of 130km (80 miles), marking a historic milestone in Iran's space program.

The capsule, commissioned by the Iranian Space Agency and crafted by the aerospace division of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, signifies a renewed push for space exploration. While details about the animals aboard the capsule remain undisclosed, the achievement echoes Iran's earlier endeavors in sending animals into space, with its first successful launch dating back to 2010. It reported in 2013 that it had sent two monkeys into space and brought them back. In 2013, Iran reported the successful return of two monkeys.

Update |

The United Nations Chief Antonio Guterres invokes for the FIRST time since 2017! Guterres pushes the Security Council to address the war, citing concerns for lives, humanitarian system collapse, and the need for a ceasefire.

As the UN's powerhouse, the Security Council must act for global peace and security. Guterres warns of a potential Gaza catastrophe; urgency echoes for Palestinians and regional peace.

Despite the invocation, Israel's ambassador criticized Guterres, asserting bias against Israel. Article 99 grants the Secretary-General the power to bring matters threatening international peace to the Security Council's attention.

If the council acts on Guterres's advice, it can enforce the resolution, including sanctions or international force deployment. But, the veto power of the council's five permanent members, , , the , the , and , looms large.

On Oct 18, the US vetoed a resolution condemning Hamas's attack, while 12 council members voted in favor, and Russia and the UK abstained.

Article 99 wielded for the 4th time in history - A rare global call to action. Occurring only three times before, in the (1960), (1979), and (1989).

07/12/2023

: UK-India trade talks are at an impasse as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak faces challenges in striking a deal with India’s Narendra Modi, reports .

Here’s why:

Key hurdles include,

🔹Disagreement over visas for Indian workers and access for British services firms
🔹The 13th round of negotiations, now in its 11th week, has seen slow progress, with crucial issues like rules of origin, investment, services, intellectual property, and inter-company work visas remaining unresolved
🔹The looming Indian election poses a timing concern, and if a deal materializes, it is expected to take "months, not weeks."
🔹Snag over migration: India wants more visas, while the UK grapples with record immigration. Indians top non-EU entries, urging UK to let firms reclaim £500 million annually from short-term visa workers' National Insurance.

➡️Interestingly, India needs roughly £1 trillion in capital over the next 10-15 years to fund its development through large infrastructure projects.

“The only place they're going to find that funneled to them,” Investment Minister Dominic Johnson said, are places like the U.K.’s international financial markets.
Britain will also “benefit hugely by doing a deal with India,” he explained, “in the sense [that] Indian investment levels into the U.K. are significant.”

➡️ While a deal could bring significant benefits, concerns arise over it being perceived as a "whisky deal" with limited progress in other sectors. As the talks continue, the path to a successful deal remains a multifaceted puzzle with no definitive resolution in sight.

Here is an enlightening episode of Alt Voices! President of Kashmir Freedom Movement, Mr. Muzzammil Ayyub Thakur, shares profound insights on the impact of India's decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the absence of international support, house arrests, and the path to a peaceful resolution.

: On Aug 5, 2019, India revoked Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir's special status, denying Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
Human rights violations & international law breaches demand action. Why the hushed response from the West?

This revocation was followed by Protests and human rights abuses and a total shutdown of IIOJK. Continued crackdown on dissent, mass arrests, and excessive use of force against protesters raise serious concerns about human rights violations in the region.Reports of torture, sexual violence, and enforced disappearances surfaced after 5th August.
During the initial 16 months of curfew, the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir become awful due to internet shutdown and media bans. Violations of digital rights occurred. The Indian government has introduced special laws to silence the Kashmiri voices through introducing Black laws like Public Safety Act (PSA) and Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). These laws are particularly introduced to target Kashmiri journalists and leaders via NIA. Demographic changes in IIOJK have sparked communal tensions, with accusations of altering the Muslim-majority character of the region (Like the Manipur conflict). Similar to the 80s when Bihari Hindu was settled by the Indian government to change the demography of Punjab.

Disappointing response from the international community on the Issue. Regional stability and political interests should not overshadow the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people. Reports of human rights abuses demand attention, yet the global North's silence is concerning. The West remained silent when its forces committed war crimes in Afghanistan during War on Terror and it is still silent now. Because they always prioritize their political interests over their democratic norms' freedom of expression. As a regional country, the Afghan Interim Government has a unique understanding of suffering, having endured two decades of challenges of WOT. Considering this, it's crucial for them to condemn the Human rights violations in IIOJK.
