HELPED KILL ACCUSED CHILD MOLESTER
Juan Eduardo Melendez, 18, of was released from jail yesterday. He helped the Treviño brothers beat and kill their stepfather, Gabriel Quintanilla, after their sister told them he had molested them. Quintanilla was wanted for continuous sexual abuse of a child in a separate case, but had not been convicted.
Judge Fernando Mancías of the 93rd District Court reduced his bail and ordered his release pending trial. He is being charged Capital Murder and Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon.
We do NOT support vigilante Justice, but in this case the guy was already on the run for doing the same thing to another little girl, so deadly force was justified. explained the more serious charges are due to the fact that they took him to a different location and stole from him. The Treviño brothers are still in jail on immigration detainers.
