So what's been going on?
I finally saved up enough money to overhaul my computer, and last week, I put all the parts together. Everything except the GPU and power supply were brand new.
After getting everything together, the computer wouldn't POST, which is one of the first steps a computer goes through when turning on.
I couldn't figure out what was wrong, so I got my buddy to take a look at it. He was pretty stumped too, but thought it could be that the BIOS needed to be updated.
So Wednesday, I took it to a computer shop. They said they'd take a look at it, and if it was the BIOS, update it for me.
Well, I got the call yesterday about what was wrong. Turns out that 2 of the RAM slots were defective. And if sticks were plugged into those slots, it caused the motherboard not work.
So I placed the replacement request in to Newegg, and am getting that motherboard replaced, but it might take a while. It all depends on how fast UPS decides to take to ship it.
"Well why don't you just not use those slots?"
Because I paid for 32Gb of RAM, and I'm gonna use 32Gb of RAM in my brand new computer.
"Well why don't you put your old computer back together?"
Because connecting case fans to a power supply is a pain in the ass, and I don't feel like doing that, possibly, 3 times in a single month.
In the meantime, I'll upload stuff, on occasion, to Tik Tok, so feel free to follow me on there. And thanks for your patience.
And when this stronger computer is ready, I'll be able to do better games. And with an i9, hopefully export videos faster, and possibly upload a little more. Or at least have more videos scheduled.
