In 2014, the city paid $4.6 million to cover the costs of its pension systems. By 2020, that payment had increased to $7.2 million a year.

Yet, the pension systems underfunding still increased.

Currently, the city's three pension systems are underfunded by $58.5 million, which is more than all the revenue the city brings in during one year.

I found a new website that is simple and not a lot of bells and whistles but this will be a news blog that focuses on content.

The number of city of Jackson employees who made six figures almost tripled in 2020, a year when the state shut down many local businesses due to COVID-19.

There were 32 city employees whose gross salaries exceeded $100,000 in 2020. There were 11 city employees who made six figures in 2019.
