Cycling is a package deal. One of the perks is great food at different famous places during the long ride.

Here is one... Kailas Bhel on Pune Bangalore Highway near Khed Shivapur Toll.

A few years ago they started with a simple cart of Bhel and now it's a popular multi-cuisine food mall on the highway.

NKT
Riders in Pune have their own jargon about the riding routes and spots. NKT & OKT are the favourite high-elevation routes in Pune.
NKT means New Katraj Tunnel, likewise, OKT means Old Katraj Tunnel.

Sometimes you also get to savour the yummy food on the way.

Jogeshwari Misal

I had seen the branches of Jogeshwari Misal in every direction of Pune while travelling. These branches suddenly popped up everywhere after the lockdown, so I wondered if they are providing quality food as they are growing too fast on this scale.

The doubts cleared when we went there for the first time during one of our rides.

Misal Pav and Matki Bhel are the two main offerings here and both are deliciously awesome.

Now it has become one of our favourite spots for us, and we have tasted the same quality and taste in different branches.

Matki Bhel's serving size is huge and 1 is usually enough for 2-3 people. So be careful while ordering that.

My first bike n hike activity to Sinhagad.

Cycled upto the base of the fort and then trekked my way up.. came down and cycled back to home.

A long pending item from my bucket list. ✅

Cycling already combines my interests of workout, travel, photography, hanging out with friends. Now one more interest added on top: hikes n treks.

Pics after climbing the famous Dive Ghat. This is the route taken by the Warkaris from Alandi to Pune.

In the background, you can see Mastani Lake. From what I read long ago, Mastani had helped the villagers here to build this lake, and they named it after her to honour her contribution.

**उन्हाळ्यातलं अमृत - उसाचा रस**

उन्हाळ्यात रस कधीही प्या छानच वाटतो... पण सायकलवर लांबच लांब रपेट मारून पुढचा ब्रेक आता रसवंतीवर असं ठरतं तेव्हा तो रस घेण्याआधीच थंड वाटायला लागतं.. ❄️

मग काही अंतराने येते रसवंती, मग जरा सावली.. तिथे रसाची ऑर्डर देऊन रस मिळेपर्यंत घुंगरांचं संगीत ऐकत विश्रांती..

आणि तो पेला एकदा हातात घेतला कि अमृत हातात आल्यासारखं वाटतं.
त्या रसाची गोडवी आणखी जाणवते.. सगळं तापलेलं शरीर आतून थंड वाटायला लागतं... परम सुख. 😇

मग लाल सिंग चड्डाच्या डायलॉग सारखं होतं... पेट भलेही भर जावे, मन नाही भरता.. 😄

परत पुढे निघण्याआधी एकेक करत मला आणखी एक हाफ, कोणी माझ्यासोबत शेअर करेल का, मला फुल, करत सगळ्यांची रिपीट ऑर्डरसुद्धा होऊन जाते.

तोच ऊस, तोच रस. पण त्यासाठी घाम गाळुन तो हातात आल्यावर पिण्याची मजा जरा वेगळी. 😉

Spotted this beauty at when we went to dine there.

This is a lovely place to hang out in Bhugaon. This is just a small part of it, the entire place is very well-designed and has great aesthetics. Loved our time spent there and clicking pictures too. More pics are coming out tomorrow.
