We currently run a 2-barrel Holley from RADesigns in our turbo bug. These 4-barrels are as versatile as the one we use, equipped with a more modern electric choke. The vacuum is more forgiving compared to the mechanical double pumpers. The vacuum secondaries make the carburetor more street-able and adaptable to any combo you throw at it.

Alright, everyone! I’ve put together a playlist covering all 5 days of the Redwood Rally Race Week with RADesigns. This was truly a bucket list item for me, and an unforgettable experience for any racing enthusiast lucky enough to take part and complete the week. Drag and drive events push your car, your skills as a racer, and your crew to the limit. Myself, Rodney, Adam, and Gary had a long week, but I’d jump at the chance to do it all over again in a heartbeat. Huge thanks to the RAD team for making this an incredible experience! Also, a big congratulations to Rodney and Beth for tying the knot!

Day 1.5 for the RAD team: Rodney and Gary checked in early at Redding Dragstrip on Monday, 9/25. Adam and I (Martin,) joined them today, Tuesday, 9/26. RADesigns made two great passes at 11.399 and 11.400, both with over a 1.70 60ft time. As soon as we had those two passes, we hit the road for our first pit stop. We trekked 170 miles in the Nova to our host hotel in Eureka, CA.

Official day 2 starts tomorrow, 9/27, at Samoa Dragstrip. Be sure to follow our YouTube channel for our journey this week! All videos are delayed by one day, so you’ll be keeping up with us on a day to day basis.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve only attended Bugorama a handful of times, and each year we would hear rumors that the following year would be the last. This time, it’s for real. Bugorama 90 marks the final chapter after 45 years. It’s the longest running VW event, held twice a year in Sacramento, CA. While I wish I could have attended more over the years, I’m very happy I’ve attended this one.
