This Day In Him (TDIH 295)
BE URGENT IN PRAYERS
“O my God, incline Your ear and hear! Open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city which is called by Your name; for we are not presenting our supplications before You on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion. O LORD, hear! O LORD, forgive! O LORD, listen and take action! For Your own sake, O my God, do not delay, because Your city and Your people are called by Your name” – Daniel 9:18,19 NASB.
Fundamentally, it is one who has known his or her stance in the righteousness of the faith of Jesus that has the courage to come boldly before the throne of grace, like Daniel did here, praying for the transgression of others.
Daniel stood up and prayed to God for the entire nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem in a prevailing intercession. He argued in prayer that both the people and the city that are called by the name of the LORD.
Declare yourself and whoever you pray for as belonging to God. There is this great zeal that God demonstrates for and on behalf of whoever and whatever is His pleasure. One who is praying must know what God’s Word says, so to excite God’s zeal in that direction.
God Himself asks us to pray, and not to faint in doing that. Based on this, He is inclined to answer one who rightly knows how to petition in faith.
We are His, In Christ Jesus, therefore, like Daniel, we can call for the listening ears of God, and His seeing eyes, to bringing about our many desires and requests. Know that God answers petitions that come before Him – “Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ” (Philippians 4:6-7 TPT).
Don’t forget to keep your mind on the compassion of God for you and people you pray for, as being God’s own, and therefore, objects of His compassion. This is how faith works in prayers of the righteous.
Every prayer of the saint must be that which establishes the reign of God in the world. God does not answer selfish prayers, that are of the lust of the flesh. Yeah, He blesses you so to make His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Pray with right focus and zeal of God’s righteousness, and in so doing the blessing of His presence will come over you, and more so.
Prayer is of loyalty and love, the foundation on which faith functions. And there are your answers….
Joshua Otashu, the servant of the LORD’S presence.
