Good morning! I hope you’re doing okay.

I’ve decided, for lack of anything better to write about, to deep dive into my travel diaries from the six months I spent abroad in 2019. I’ve never written about it other than some bulleted notes I wrote in a journal. It was a very bizarre experience being that removed from my life and anyone I knew for that long. I’m considering sending this series a bit more frequently than every two weeks, so you may see me pop into your inbox on an unexpected day of the week for the next few weeks as I work through this. Maybe you won’t find this interesting. Feel free to reply to any of these emails to tell me if you think I’m boring. That’s the sort of feedback I really welcome and value.

Okay, enough excuse-making. Here are the first few days of my six months spent alone on the opposite side of the ocean. Maybe it feels like it ends abruptly, but remember it’s actually just the beginning.

This has been a weird week for both Hannah and Robin. We were simultaneously busy and bored. We could barely bring ourselves to read, watch or listen to anything. Maybe it’s the year anniversary of Lady Corona making her entrance into our lives, or maybe it’s the change of season, or maybe it’s just us being in weird moods.

Whatever it is, it feels very real for us in this moment.

Instead of our usual style of episode, this week you get us a little more raw, a lot more giggly, and a fairly honest confessional of how we’re feeling.

We’ve got our friend/actor/playwright/producer/opera singer Ellen Denny on the show today to discuss her pandemic project February: a love story and what it’s like to create theatre during a pandemic.

Ellen is based in Toronto which means “February: A Love Story” has had to be moved online due to the enforced lockdown happening in Ontario- the show will now be streamed online from February 14th-March 7th (which tbh is great news for all of us who aren’t in Toronto and now get a chance to take in the show).
