Rust is a computer game in the genre of survival simulator, was created by the independent British studio Facepunch [1], headed by Harry Newman since 2014. The game was released on Microsoft Windows, macOS platforms. The game was released on February 8, 2013.
In 2014, the game under development was transferred to a new game engine. The version on the old engine became known as Legacy, and the new one was named Experimental. On October 6, 2016, the option to launch the Legacy version was removed from the client side of the game.
The new version of the game is deeply different from Legacy, thanks in large part to the new version of the Unity engine.
Although most of the items that were in the Legacy have been carried over to the new version, many of them have been changed. New types of various equipment have also appeared.
Also, in the new version, the construction system has been changed - the system of rotting buildings has been worked out and the stability indicator has been added, which will not allow players to build huge "castles up to heaven". In addition, double doors, hatches, stairs and railings have been added.
