December can be a funny month…
For some companies - and employees - work in December slows down and the month can be all about winding down. For some other companies, December might be the busiest and most chaotic month of the year with increased website traffic, and activity at its highest.

Interested in a career in CRM? What does it mean to be a CRM specialist? 🤔
We reached out to some of our CRM gurus who filled us in on the skills needed in the CRM field, and what drew them to a career in CRM.
Two weeks ago we posted our third and final post in our 3-part recruitment series. But there is much to say about recruitment, especially interview questions! Our Head of HR, Aleksandra gave us some tips on approaching one of the trickier interview questions out there: ‘What are your weaknesses?’ 🤔
❗️First off, it’s crucial to prepare for any interview, no matter if you are a seasoned professional, or just starting out.
Candidates tend to falter when asked this question, and fear their answer will paint a negative image of themselves.
Rather than giving a cheesy answer which any HR professional worth their salt would be able to see through, like ‘I am a workaholic and perfectionist’, Aleksandra advises to prepare for this question by thinking of 3-5 of your main achievements in your previous roles, and to frame your answer through answering the following questions:
1️⃣ Which of my qualities helped me achieve this result? ← This is where your strengths will be revealed.
2️⃣ What are my shortcomings and what limitations did I face in my role? ← Here’s where you can identify your weaknesses.
3️⃣ What did I do to overcome these difficulties? ← Here’s where you demonstrate how you overcame your weaknesses with the help of your strengths.
Recruiters ask this question to determine your honesty, self-awareness, and willingness to improve. So, when tackling this question, describe your weaknesses in the context of your achievements and most importantly, show how your weaknesses do not prevent you from achieving results! ⭐️

The 360 Score is an employee evaluation feature implemented by DUXGroup’s Head of HR, and which operates on our own developed platform. Some members from the Malta office dedicated their morning yesterday to lending a helping hand at the Soup Kitchen in Valletta. 🍜
The Soup Kitchen is run by the Franciscan Friars to serve the homeless community. Apart from providing food, the institution also offers cleaning facilities and laundry services to its guests and eventually, hopes to be able to offer night shelter.
Our volunteers prepared and served breakfast, lunch and dessert to the many in need, and sat down for a chat with some of the guests.
The Soup Kitchen is a non-governmental charity which relies solely on donations and volunteers. Our volunteers also made a sizable donation of fruits and vegetables. 🍎
It was an important experience to be able to lend a helping hand to a part of society most in need, and we plan to repeat this experience in the future. 🤝
A massive thanks to Fr. Marcellino Micallef who heads the Soup Kitchen, to the Franciscan Friars and to the daily volunteers for their invaluable work and kindness.

You deserve to properly switch off during your vacation, yet so many employees leave for their break stressed that they haven’t finished their tasks on time 😰
💡We’re here with some practical tips to make sure you prepare for your upcoming holiday wisely and in advance so that you can truly kick back and relax!
📝Create a task list. It’s much easier to stay on top of things and be productive when you can see a list of tasks. If possible, try to complete important tasks beforehand, but tools like Trello are great for To-Do lists as you can share your lists with co-workers.
🔝Start with your most urgent or your biggest tasks first to avoid having to deal with any urgencies, or last minute incidents on the day before you leave.
🤝Delegate ongoing tasks to stand-ins and prepare a handover dealing with the status of ongoing tasks, what might happen, and how to respond. Follow that up with an email to update your regular contacts about who to turn to for information regarding a particular task in your absence.
📨Prepare an informative OOO. Your Out-of-Office message should clearly indicate your return date, who to contact regarding certain projects, and who to contact should something urgent come up.
💡Remind your contacts and colleagues of your upcoming leave period a few days before your departure.
↩️Organise your return. You don’t want to be faced with surprises or stress on your first day back to work! Update your calendar and try to leave the first day free to catch up on emails, project updates, and to receive a rundown from your stand-ins.
🏖️And there you have it! With a little organisation and planning, it is entirely possible to enjoy a stress-free holiday knowing all your ducks are in a row and your tasks and projects are in good hands.

🍫Did someone say chocolate? Our Malta office visited the Malta Chocolate Factory in Bugibba yesterday for an afternoon of wine and chocolate pairing. Sampling some of the finest local wines and creamiest chocolates, and learning about the island’s different grapes and chocolate intensities, it’s safe to say that the Malta team was well engaged and entertained, and their palates indulged!🍷
