We’re Back
We’ve been stationed at home base doing all of the homestead-y type things, but with John’s work and classes at both enjoying fall break, we jumped at the opportunity to visit in order to recharge as we prepare for the last part of the year.

My absolute favorite place to go out west in the RV is the Big Horn Mountains. I can't even begin to describe our time there in a handful of characters. You just have to see it yourself. John's working on our next travel video and it shows our first time in mountains camping and all the ups and downs that go along with it. The biggest challenge was NO WATER but that wasn't all! Michelle may post more on this but we lost one of our young laying hens yesterday evening. All four of us have really enjoyed having hens and learning how to take care of them. This was a sober reminder for our family that we’re sailing in uncharted waters for us, which will naturally lead to some failures and will also require wisdom from others who have gone down this path before us. The kids were sad, but not nearly as busted up as I thought they’d be. A credit to the God we serve and our commitment to living a life for Him with the recognition that He is ultimately the provider. 🙏✝️👑

Morel Hunting
Living free in southern Indiana today, as we meet up with some friends including to hang out, hike, and hunt morel mushrooms.
The kids explored the woods and even joined in the search for fungi at one point.
It was a refreshing time of fellowship and enjoying God’s creation together.

We've been looking back at some of our experiences in America's facilities as a way to celebrate National Park Week.
The most recent park we visited was just last month, as we toured and we were very impressed. We found that this park is, in our opinion, the most Junior Ranger-centric National Park. De Soto has three different badges for kids who participate in a variety of park events, as well as the famous Bark Ranger badge for our four legged friends, and a Junior Ranger coin! .ranger.nps

It's National Park Week, and we're looking back fondly on some of our favorite memories visiting facilities.
We visited around Independence Day 2021, and the views in the park were even more breathtaking than the fireworks shows we witnessed in Estes, Colorado.
We saw more active wildlife at Rocky than any other park we visited, and the elk were a huge part of that.

This time around, it's one of John's favorite photos from the nearby - our family's local National Park.
This beautiful facility is nestled right beside the Wabash river and features gorgeous artwork and architecture.

National Park Week continues, and we're celebrating our FIRST National Park - 🤩
The shot we chose here was a highlight of our Western US travels last year, as we witnessed a bison grazing while Old Faithful burst forth. The park ranger nearby told us that, despite it's appearance on promotional materials, this is actually a rare sight.
