*GENERAL REVENUE MOBILIZATION BY NEDCo*

The Northern Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (NEDCo) wishes to inform its cherished customers and the general public that the company will undertake a general revenue mobilization exercise across its operational areas effective April 18, 2023.

The exercise will cover all categories of customers in arrears, including State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs). Special security arrangements will be put in place to arrest and prosecute anyone who interferes with the exercise. Any persons identified to be engaged in illegal connections or reconnections will equally be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Accordingly, NEDCo’s Head Office and Area Offices will be closed temporarily to allow for the full engagement of all staff, including top Management in this exercise. We wish to further notify the General Public that, recalcitrant customers who have refused to redeem their indebtedness to the Company after they have been served with Demand Notices will be arraigned before Court.

Customers in arrears are entreated to pay their bills immediately to avoid disconnection and payment of reconnection fees. NEDCo urges all to cooperate for this exercise to be successful, bearing in mind that we can only serve you well when you pay your bills! END.

25/03/2023

Former president of the Republic of Ghana, has expressed his disappointment in the members of the minority caucus in Ghana's parliament over the approval of the new ministers.

He described the action of the MP'S on his Facebook post, 25th March 2023 as a BETRAYAL.

READ FULL STATEMENT BELOW

A couple of weeks ago, our NDC group in Parliament announced a principled position not to approve any new ministers until the President has taken steps to significantly reduce the size of his government.

This position was supported by a broad section of Ghanaians and public advocacy groups.

Unfortunately, Ghanaians were sorely disappointed yesterday when several members of the Minority for some parochial and personal interest voted against the principled position adopted by the party.

I am also disappointed.

Those responsible for this betrayal must do some serious soul searching and learn to place national interest over personal interest.

Equally disappointing is the President's refusal to seize the opportunity to realign and downsize his bloated government when the NPP flagbearer hopefuls and the Chieftaincy minister resigned.

Clearly in this time of crisis and excruciating hardships, President Akufo-Addo, his NPP administration and some of our MPs are out of tune with the mood of the Ghanaian people.

I still believe, as I said in Ho recently, that in this time of crisis, government can still run efficiently with not more than 60 ministers.

For our grassroots members and all Ghanaians who are disappointed by this insensitivity, I urge you not to despair.

2024 offers us an opportunity to work hard to defeat this reckless government that seeks to destroy our democracy and the very livelihoods of Ghanaians- an opportunity for us to work and build the Ghana we all want from January 07, 2025.

Hon Iddrisu Musah Superior, Wrote this as the Official Role of an MP. Do you agree with him???

The official role of an MP.

To attend Parliament and participate effectively in the discourse, pass laws and advocate/lobby for social and infrastructural development for your constituency; and to ensure that the executive (government) performs its duties satisfactorily.

Other “duties” include attending social events, (weddings, funerals, etc), support constituents with financial assistance to develop their careers (education, trade and businesses), pay medical bills, fully or partially sponsor weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies, periodic Constituency surgeries, etc.

With tact, honesty and a degree of SELF APPRAISAL, we can surmount these challenges and deliver for our people.

*Yaw Buaben Asamoa: Current conditions favour Alan as NPP flagbearer to break the eight*

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7″

Very often, incumbents seek to use the authority of the power given them by the masses to succeed themselves through endorsement of surrogates by the “system”.

Having dominated the NPP since the 2007 Legon Presidential Conference, there is a strong public perception, even if debatable, of some functionaries around H.E. President Akufo-Addo trying to prevent change and renewal in the leadership of the Party in favour of themselves against the yearning of the Party grassroots, who believe only genuine change can lead to continuity in power. Grassroots delegates believe Alan represents renewal and a real possibility of victory in 2024.

The Swedru Declaration scared the NDC. Kufuor suffered severe verbal terrorism for the perception of being against the then change candidate Nana Addo. Whether history is karma or the other way round, an “Official Candidate”, enjoying official endorsements, is pitched against the Private Sector Champion, the man for genuine change who has patiently and courageously waited to lead the Party to break the 8.

The majority of NPP delegates understand and accept their duty to select a candidate “fit for the times”.

This time demands an extraordinary person with the credibility to restore and transform the economy to generate jobs and incomes, rebuild the Party and convince Ghanaians that the NPP should be trusted to break the eight.

When you refuse to understand delegate motivations and coercive endorsements fail, then you “fear delegates”. You fear delegates when they refuse to fear your authority and choose the right candidate against all odds.

The “Official Candidate” simply does not meet the expectations of the delegates and needs of the nation.

From FUSMED, FOUNDATION FOR FUTURE LEADERS, ENTERPRISE AFRICA to YEF, CBV, WTO and now AfCFTA, Alan is the Party businessman.

His phenomenal capacity to grow people is what the Party needs to present to the nation to secure an unprecedented third term to have a realistic chance of transforming the fortunes of Ghana.

The Private Sector has a huge stake in the quality of leadership needed for a breakthrough in the 2024 election.

They ought to come out and testify.

This is your time.
Your time to make Ghana appreciate wealth creation as the best mechanism for sustained growth and prosperity.

*Traditional Authorities all over Ghana have spoken.*

*Delegates are waiting for the Private Sector and Academia to add their confirmation.*

*The next natural leader of the NPP and Ghana is Alan Kyerematen.*

He will run an inclusive, innovative and inspirational campaign and government, with room for all talents, persuasions and interests, provided it’s about Ghana and transformation.

*If endorsement was bad in 2007, it can’t be good in 2023.*

A group of pensioners, representing 14,000 individuals across the country, have presented a petition to Parliament today. The petition calls on Parliament to investigate the underpayment of redundancy benefits owed to them as part of the Cocoa Rehabilitation Project, which aimed to revamp the Cocoa Industry back in 1993-94.

The Retrenched Cocobod Debtor’s Association noted that the current economic situation has made it necessary for them to take action against the reduction of their payment benefits.

Mr. William O. Badu presented the petition on behalf of the group, which was received by Hon. Stephen Jalulah, Hon. Okudjeto Ablakwah, Hon. Mintah Akando, and Hon. Abdul Razak-Tahidu on behalf of the Speaker.

The Members of Parliament assured the petitioners that their concerns would be given due attention and addressed by the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin and the leadership of the House.

They thanked the petitioners for using due process to address their grievances and assured them that Speaker Bagbin attaches importance to all petitions brought before Parliament and necessary actions will be taken to ensure a resolution is reached.

The petitioners are a group of workers who were retrenched in 1993-94 as part of the Cocoa Rehabilitation Project aimed at revamping the Cocoa Industry.

It clearly shows that he and his party, the NDC haven’t learnt any serious lesson on what has created the kind of parliament we have today.
