I work as an online marketer with a 50 year old company whose mission it is to spread true health. Physically, mentally & financially.

The company I partnered up with chooses to not use their marketing budget for traditional marketing, instead they work with independent distributors. Which gives them a chance to set up an online business.

I am one of those independent distributors
As an independent distributor I get the freedom to decide when, and from where I work. This could be any location

In addition to that I also teach others to do the same

This is one of the reasons why I’ve started to work for myself. So that I can create more time for the things that I love to do. Of course, traveling is one, but especially in my day-to-day life I find that I don't have enough time to spend on things that I’m passionate about. Like yoga, working out, cooking, and learning new things like salsa dancing and Spanish 💃

If there’s one thing my friends and family know about me, it is that I’m not a Winter person or made for cold weather. Give me the sun, days at the beach and afternoons on the terrace✨

But Winter will be here anyway so let’s make something positive out of it. Because Winter for me also means less distractions and more time for my business, so let’s grow while being cosy❄️

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫

Today it is exactly one year ago that I wandered around Santiago on my first day of a 6 month backpacking trip. It literally feels like two months ago and wow how much has changed ever since!

This trip has taught me so much, especially about myself. I came to the realization that how my life was planned out was not what I wanted and that I needed a chance. And now I’m working each day to create to pursue MY dreams✨

Our community had another offline meet-up close to Utrecht.

It was great to see some people again, meet new people, and have some really good and meaningful conversations.

It’s so liberating when you find people who share the same vision and dreams. People who just like you seek more freedom and growth in life.

It truly feels like a second family and these friendships will stay for life 🤍

For a long time, I felt stuck in life because the things that I wanted in life seemed unrealistic. Travel, explore while working from everywhere, volunteer as much as I want to, and decide when and where I will work. When your dreams do fit in what society considers as ‘normal’ it can be quite lonely

So I didn’t listen to my feelings and what I actually wanted but just went with what seemed to make sense. Graduate, get a job, and eventually work myself up. Now that I know that this doesn’t have to be that way at all it feels so liberating ✨

I always thought that to start my own online business I first needed to have a lot of experience. But this is absolutely not true! Thanks to the training platforms of the community I have access to all the information I need to build my online business

Your choices do not need to make sense for anybody else. Do what you want, because life's too short to lose yourself to what everybody else is doing, other's expectations or rules

Create the life you dream of and learn not to feel guilty about doing what’s best for you. And not everybody will understand it, but that’s ok 🤍

At the beginning of this journey, this was actually something I was quite afraid of. What would people close to me think about me starting my own online business to set myself free? Would they understand?

But the thing is, the only opinion that really matters is your own. If you know why you do something and you stand behind it, then let other people think what they want. And only, truly listen to the opinions of people that are already a step ahead of you with what you want✨

This weekend I attended my first offline event of the community .yourfreedom that I am part of in Antwerp ✨

It was everything and more than I expected! I finally met my coach and business partners in real life 🤍 I was inspired by some of the bigger leaders within Enagic and had some great realizations about myself and my next steps

If you had told me a few months ago that I would be here with all these beautiful people, I wouldn't have believed you

So grateful for this opportunity and I can't wait for everything to come 🦋

PAIN IS HAPPINESS

Wait what? Let me explain this quote which I recently read in the book ‘The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck of Mark Manson. When asking what you want to achieve in life, you shouldn’t ask what the ultimate end goal is, but how much work and time you’re willing to put in.

For example, how many people say they want to become an athlete? And then how many are there actually willing to put in the work of training every single day? When thinking of your goals you should think about the process it’s going to take to get there, if that’s worth it for you. ONLY THEN YOU SHOULD DO IT!

What am I working towards?

Time freedom
Deciding when to work, when to take time off with my family & friends and be able to make my own schedule

Location freedom
Working online means I eventually can work from anywhere and don’t have to take a vacation to travel and discover new places

Financial freedom
This will take time but eventually it will mean that I don’t have to worry about my income and be able provide for myself

SAYING NO ❌

Since starting this journey I’ve come to the realization that a big lesson for me is to only say YES to things that really serve me or that I want and say NO to things that don’t. Before, if someone asked me to hang out I would almost always say yes even if I planned for myself to do something productive and then I ended up not doing this

I don’t mean this in a mean way but it’s part of prioritizing the things I do in order to reach my goals, so now I do say no more often. This leads to having way more time for myself and enjoying the time I spend with my friends and family more because I don’t feel guilty about it✨

Why did I start this online business?

I have always dreamed of traveling, trying new foods, exploring and learn new things. But with my current 9-5 job I can’t do this as much as I would want to, I want to be able to travel and see as much of this world as I possibly can without having a boss that has to agree for me to go on vacation. I want to be free to decide what I do and when not having to plan my entire life around my job but be able to do this the other way around.

My goal in life is to have complete freedom, location freedom, time freedom, and financial freedom. And I know that with my current job, this will never be possible💔

That’s why I’ve decided to start my own online business to break free and live the life I dream of. And I know that with all the support of the community that I get I’ll achieve my goals✨

Things I’ve learned while traveling✨

- It is good to be on your own sometimes, this forces you to get out of your comfort zone and do things you never thought you would
- I don’t know as much as I think I do, when growing up in my hometown I’ve always been told how I should live my life and I accepted that as the truth. There are so many different cultures and ways of living and you need to figure this out for yourself
- Living with less can be so freeing, I lived out of one backpack for 6 months and I didn’t need more. You don’t need a lot stuff to live happy

So in February 2022 I graduated with my bachelor in Leisure Management (experience design). After this I immediately started working fulltime as a content manager for a Dutch newspaper so I could save up money for my big backpacking trip

During this trip I came to the realization that I didn’t want to stay in this cycle of working, saving up money to travel and then using all of my savings. This was one of my main reasons to start this online business. Right now I’m working as a content manager again but I know this will only be temporary✨

Some of my favorite experiences while traveling through South America 🌎

- Hike to the beautiful crater lake Quilotoa in Ecuador
- Walking on the Perito Moreno glacier in Patagonia
- Celebrating Carnival in Colombia with the nicest group of travelers and locals
- See the Uyuni Salt Flats at sunrise
- Cycling for a whole day past lots of wineries in Mendoza, Argentina and of course stop at each one to taste a couple of wines

Where does my love for traveling come from?
Of course, there're several reasons why I love traveling so much, but one person who had played a big role in this is my mother. She's a a flight attendant and has taken me and my sisters on many trips from a young age. So it's easy to say that she played a big part in me loving traveling so much✨

Fun fact: my mother came to Quito in Ecuador with her work during my trip around South America and we got to spend 2 days together there❤
