We're still banned from the studio, but the world is tracking to reopening (hopefully before the end of summer). So here's hoping for new episodes in January 2022.

Funkameda #23. Is not dedicated to Mike and the Last Dance. It is dedicated to that good ole’ funky music! And this is obviously an old set, because we were talking about Impeachment and not mentioning Rona. Amnesty, Baby Huey (getting creepy mid-song), the Godfather Sly, Willie Hutch, and as always, a whole lotta mo. The show tries (and fails) to build community. Twofer at the end of the show!

Funkameda #20. A ray of sunshine for the shut ins. We may be allowed back in the studio in June! Until then another show from the past. The Semi – United States of America. Chaka Khan and Galactic are front runners. Is it too late for them to get into the Dem primary? More mispronounced artist (we don’t talk good). Bootsy is a weirdo. A bunch of bomb women singers, and a guy name Earl (shout out to Jason Lee), Earth Wind and Fire, Jill Scott (Go Go vibe), Jimmy Castor, the War and the Treaty, Rufus, Chuck Mangione (what is he funky?) and of course more! Funkatradomus makes wild assumptions about our fundraising prowess. We’re the best!

Funkameda #19. More shows from the past. Hopefully we’ll be able to get new shows up in the near future. That said, this show is not serious. Don’t we all need a little laughter nowadays? Lots of laughing at ourselves. Sue us. Leland relieves his skate punk days by playing, Generation X (not funk)! We play the game funky or not (there was a little sabotage). A tease on a future show. Hot 8 Brass Band, Maceo, Jill Scott, Kokomo, Rufus and more! Yes, Funkstradomus came with a 3-song set. But they are three great live songs. Especially that Kokomo, ooh wee I want to go to that show now!

Funkameda #18. Due to recording errors, and a possible gaffe, we’re skipping Episode #17, to bring us shut ins the joy of the 80s! Leland claims to be the Highlander! Red light basement music. We got that glow! Creepo dance floor music (you know who you are). Leland tells stories of Double Dutch adventures! Our most mainstream funk show to date. Bar Kays, Fatback, Frankie Smith, Tom Browne, Zapp and more! And yes, we realized we left out Prince, Kool & the Gang, and the Time. They’ll be other 80s funk shows. Relax.

Episode #15. No studio, no new shows, no problem! Bringing you a classic episode from Alameda radio from a few months back. Funkastradomus aka the Disco Kid, sneaks in a disco set much to Leland’s chagrin. Let’s just say “If disco is a dirty word, I don’t want to be clean”! Second half of the set Leland aka Undisco Kid brings it with Living Colour, Chili Peppers, Boog Brown (not a Funkastradomus’ nickname) and more! In Leland’s words, this is the episode Funkameda becomes a woman? I am not sure what that means, but fun show nonetheless.
