At the beginning of 2023, I was struggling financially and decided to run a sale on my beats, offering exclusive rights (ownership) at a significantly lower price. The response was overwhelming, and I realized I had found a niche that worked for me. Despite the success, I faced challenges with the sustainability of selling beats so cheaply, as creating them can take considerable time. After much thought, I’ve developed a strategy that can be more sustainable for me and provide for my family while filling a significant gap in my music genre—offering low-cost exclusive beat options that artists can own outright, eliminating the hassles of leasing.

Now, I’m doubling down on this strategy, offering high-value beats, mixing services, and music mentorship at a super affordable price, specifically for the Christian hip-hop community. My goal is to serve independent artists who need quality music they can own while ensuring I can sustain this model for the long term.

I’m considering launching a formal crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter again (I successfully ran one in 2017) to help fund this new business model. I’m not sure if I will yet, but in the meantime, if anyone feels led to support this new venture, I would greatly appreciate it! Most importantly, your prayers are greatly appreciated as I navigate this new chapter for my music production business. If it’s The Lord’s will, I believe this will prosper and bear fruit.

Last month, I set my mind on giving YouTube all I have, as a means to educate, inspire, and provide for my family. Since my return to making content there, I am shocked how quickly the channel has been growing. In 2020, I had a viral video when I decided to go from making music content to marriage/family vlogging style content. I went from like 100 subscribers to 10,000 in a couple weeks. Vlogging family stuff is cool, but not entirely my thing.

For anyone that knows me, audio production and mixing is my passion. I've been at it since I was 12, and can't seem to ever just move on, despite how complicated and difficult the road has been to making it anything worthy of calling a career. Since my return to making educational content last month, I have grown 400 subscribers - 200 this week alone! I am super encouraged and finally see the potential for success in what I've been pursuing for so long.

People are commenting and engaging on every video and thanking me for making content that has helped them learn something they've been struggling to learn elsewhere - that alone is rewarding enough to keep going! Anyone who creates content would know that these numbers and activity are incredibly inspiring when trying to grow a channel from nothing.

I praise God for the growth, and trust that eventually, this will become something bigger than I ever expected. All I have to do is trust Him, and keep showing up week after week with quality content and value thats solves people's audio problems. If this interests you, here's the link to my channel below.
