Should the City advertise property sales publicly? Or sell to private insiders? Should the city get an appraisal completed?

Tonight, The commission is voting on a “land exchange” between city insider Tom West and the The City of Ocoee without placing the property up for sale or competitive bid. In the proposed arrangement Mr West would exchange a tiny lot and $25,000 in return would receive a larger lot in downtown Ocoee, and several vehicles and equipment.

Correction: In Previous Meetings appraisals were presented to the public.
The commission meets tonight at City Hall at 6:15pm

This is a developing story as we learn more details from the City.

Thank you George Oliver for taking the time to share why you should be the next Commissioner to serve District 4. George Olivers campaign has faced much uncertainty from the election drama surrounding the election date changes to being disqualified, then re-qualified by a court order. According to election filings his campaign has spent about $10,000 in legal expenses simply to get his name on the ballot. As noted previously, George Olivers campaign has not raised nearly as much money as the Nate Robertson campaign.

Will the event of 2023 energize his voter base or will the attack ads from third party players sour peoples view of Olivers leadership? We will find out March 19th, 2024. Don't forget to find you polling location and get out and VOTE!

We are grateful to Nate Robertson for sharing why he should be your next District 4 commissioner. You may have seen him actively campaigning from door to door and waving signs on Saturday🌧️or☀️. Nate is an experienced candidate who has run for District 40 State Representative office previously, although unsuccessful, he established his campaign infrastructure and developed his donor base; Mr Robertson has raised $18,797 compared to George Olivers tab of $9,595 breaking the record for the-most-money-raised in District 4 history! The campaign energy is heating up evidenced by the record fundraising for this seat. As we near our March 19th Election Day be sure to find you voting location. More info on that coming soon.

I founded Ocoee Votes with the hope of adding transparency and awareness to our election process. Democracy Dies in darkness, help me shine a light. Share and Comment who you like and why. If you are on the fence about who to vote for, we will also have another video with his opponent George Oliver next week.
