After realising that he can’t reach them, the bitter and angry fox gives up, declaring that they must be sour anyway and not worth the effort. It is a big change for Heidi, and Grandpa Alm is not very good at showing his emotions. However, Heidi soon settles into her new life in the countryside and is very happy.
When Heidi’s aunt returns and declares that she is taking Heidi back to the city, to be homeschooled in the mansion where she is working, Heidi is sad. She doesn’t want to leave Grandpa Alm and their cosy little hut. But Grandpa Alm says it is better for her to go and get an education and learn to read and write.
Heidi meets Clara, the little girl in the wheelchair who lives in the big mansion. They soon become good friends. But Heidi is homesick and misses her grandpa. Eventually it is decided that she must go back to the mountains where she will be happy.
Clara comes to the mountains to visit Heidi. The happiness of being with her friend,combined with the healthy mountain air does Clara the world of good. With Heidi’s help and determination, Clara is soon able to walk her first steps in many years! There she gladly offers her help to everyone that asks. She stays with a kind, old lady called Mother Frost and takes care of her. Before the young girl returns home, Mother Frost repays her for her kindness with a shower of gold coins.

The young girl’s mean, spiteful stepsister hears the story and decides to go and find Mother Frost for herself, hoping that she too, will be showered with gold. However things do not go exactly as she hopes……A traditional tale that reiterates the idea that we all “reap what we sow”.

When it was time for him to move on, he rowed on and on until there were no more houses to be seen. Only then did he stop and tie up his little boat. He took out the apple seeds and scattered them around an open place. He did this several more times in several more places. Soon the seeds grew into trees creating apple orchards. Many years later, when settlers were looking for places to live, they would chose these spots where fruit trees were in abundance. The man was nicknamed Johnny Appleseed

On a freezing New Year's Eve a poor young girl, shivering and barefoot, tries to sell matches in the street. Afraid to go home because her father will beat her for failing to sell any matches, she huddles in the alley between two houses and lights matches, one by one, to warm herself.

In the flame of the matches she sees a series of comforting visions: a warm stove, a holiday feast, a happy family, and a Christmas tree. Each vision disappears as its match burns out. In the sky she sees a shooting star, which her late grandmother had told her means someone is on their way to Heaven...

There was once a merchant with three daughters. The merchant had to travel for quite some weeks and asked each daughter what he should bring her upon his return. Beauty, the youngest of the three, asked for a pretty flower, chosen by their father.

Weeks went by and the merchant returned home. Passing a castle, he noticed a pretty little rose garden. He went inside and plucked a flower. “What are you doing?” roared a great, hairy Beast. The merchant explained about Beauty and the rose. The Beast agreed to let the merchant go free, if he promised to send his daughter to live in the castle.

Beauty went to the castle. At first she was frightened of the Beast but soon grew to enjoy his company.

One day the Beast asked Beauty to marry him, but she refused. She began to cry because she missed her family. The Beast gave her a magic mirror that allowed her to see them at any moment.

Beauty saw in the mirror that her father was ill. The Beast allowed her to go home and care for him. One night Beauty had a terrible dream that the Beast was dying. She realised how much she loved him and went hurrying back to tell him. Upon hearing her declaration, the Beast changed into a handsome prince. He explained that he had been under a curse. Now that Beauty loved him, he had turned back into a prince. The two of them married and lived happily ever after.

One day Benjamin Bunny heads to his aunt’s house. On the way he sees Mr and Mrs McGregor setting out for the day in their gig. Arriving at his aunt’s house, Benjamin meets his cousin Peter. Benjamin convinces Peter to go with him to Mr McGregor’s garden to try and retrieve the clothes that Peter lost there previously.

They find Peter’s blue jacket and brown shoes on a scarecrow. Peter is scared to stay too long after his unpleasant experience the last time he was in the garden. Benjamin, on the other hand, stops to gather onions for his aunt.

The pair see a cat and scramble to hide under a basket. Unfortunately the cat then sits on top, trapping the bunnies for five hours. They are eventually rescued by Benjamin’s father, Old Benjamin Bunny, who then proceeds to punish them for coming in to Mr Mc Gregor’s garden.

The two bunnies return home to Peter’s house. His mother is glad to see that he has found his clothes.

Mr McGregor returns to his garden and is puzzled by all of the small footprints, the scarecrow’s missing clothes and the cat locked in the greenhouse.
