Happy Thanksgiving, Lupin fans across the pond! To celebrate, TMS Entertainment USA have announced the next Lupin III television special coming to YouTube for a limited time in the U.S. — and this time it's 1995's The Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure!

The last Lupin work directed by Osamu Dezaki, this special marks the first straight-to-TV work in which Kanichi Kurita took on the role of Lupin III, after the late Yasuo Yamada’s passing. This particular version features the FUNimation English dub cast and is only available with English language audio. The film also includes gender representation of an individual that viewers are likely to find offensive.

Oh my God it’s finally happening!

A brand-new work in the Lupin IIIRD spin-off series, tentatively titled Lupin the IIIRD THE MOVIE is coming to Japan in 2025. While not confirmed at time of writing, the film is also likely to be localised and released worldwide.

Directed by Takeshi Koike (of Redline and previous Lupin the IIIRD fame), the film is set to be feature-length and 2D animated, in line with previous entries.

While details are currently scarce, the teaser trailer mentions that Yūya Takahashi will be returning to write the screen play, and that James Shimoji is also back to handle the soundtrack. Katsuhito Ishii is also on board as a creative adviser. The teaser shows footage from the previous three spin-off films, ending with a glimpse at what appears to be a shaken and beaten-up Inspector Zenigata, and the phrase “You don’t know the real Lupin III”.

More details are sure to be released on this upcoming film next year - stay tuned!

The classic “Shin Lupin III” manga is getting a new release in Spain! 🇪🇸

Priced at €35, the new translation is handled by the Mangaline Group. The first volume is sizable, covering chapters one through forty-one. Early orders come bundled with bonus illustrations and bookmarks, while stocks last. 🙌

At time of writing, the Spanish site is currently out of stock, however, the Mexican site still has the item available for pre-order.

Eighteen classic television specials will be getting new releases on Blu-ray in Japan!

The specials will release in three waves, each containing six specials each. The first is wave due to go on sale on January the 22nd, 2025. Waves two and three are due to release soon after, with the current plan being that all will release during the first half of 2025. Each volume will release with a recommended retail price of ÂĄ4,400.

The first boxed set contains the following:

Lupin III: Bye Bye, Lady Liberty (1989)

Lupin III: The Mystery of the Hemingway Papers (1990)

Lupin III: Steal Napoleon's Dictionary! (1991)

Lupin III: From Siberia with Love (1992)

Lupin III: Voyage to Danger (1993)

Lupin III: The Pursuit of Harimao's Treasure (1995)

“The Castle of Cagliostro” is coming to IMAX cinemas in Japan for the first time! Fans will be able to catch the classic 1979 Hayao Miyazaki directed feature film with superior image quality and sound for a limited time.
