The former governor of Nairobi businessman Mike Sonko has been the latest person to give his opinion about the DNA testing equipment which it is said will now be cheaper in the country and which will be sold for people to take home and do the tests themselves.

This conversation started after Millicent Omanga disclosed the news on her web pages that DNA services which have been expensive for a long time will now be simplified where DNA testing equipment will be sold for 800 shillings Kenyan money and a person leaves with it to do the tests in the comfort of his home.

Sonko warned people not to do such tests as many marriages will be broken and the consequences will be very bad for the children who in that context will be innocent."I have done more research on Senator Omanga's previous post of home DNA tests for Ksh. 800. First, my advice to family members is to avoid going to those tests because it will lead to many divorce cases and break many relationships with fences. However, for informational purposes, home DNA kits provide up to 99.99% accuracy as to whether an old man was castrated, so don't go with those stories. Continue to educate the children because they are innocent and a blessing to the family," Sonko advised.Various Kenyans have had conflicting opinions about the presence of such equipment, with many women seeming to oppose it and on the other hand, many men seeming to welcome the move saying that the ripeness and the rawness will be known in the children who provide care and education to them.

As the Christmas season continues, the celebrations have been decorated with the blessing of abundant rain that continues to fall in various parts of the country.

On Wednesday, a video was seen of a bodaboda man who defied the warning of people who asked him not to cross the flooded river with his pike pike in the river in Narok county. The motorcyclist who seemed to be stubborn through the explanation ignored the warning of the people and instead decided to cross the flood on a motorcycle.

What happened a few moments later was that he was swept away by the water with a loud roar and died, where his body was found a few hours later, dead. His body was embalmed and taken to the mortuary in Kilgoris while the police officer in the county asked the public, especially motorists and motorcyclists to be careful when crossing flooded roads during the rain.

A security guard at the Lusail stadium has died after falling from the World Cup stadium in Qatar after Argentina's quarter-final victory over the Netherlands.

Kenyan John Njau Kibue was initially said to be in a good but serious condition - however, he died after three days in hospital.
Qatari organizers say they are "investigating the circumstances leading to the collapse as a matter of urgency".His 24-year-old sister told CNN they have not been given an explanation.

"We want justice. We want to know what caused his death. They have never sent us a picture to show where he fell or give us any other information," Ann Wanjiru said.

Kibue's family told CNN that he moved to Qatar in November to work under contract with a local security company.

Kibue is the second migrant worker reported to have died since the start of the World Cup on November 20.

A Filipino national died while doing renovations at a resort used as a training center for the Saudi Arabian team, The Athletic reported.

While the tournament's executive committee stressed that the death occurred outside its jurisdiction, it said it offered its "heartfelt condolences" to Kibue's family, colleagues and friends.A Guardian newspaper report last year said 6,500 migrant workers have died in Qatar since the country was awarded the World Cup in 2010.However, this has been denied by Qatari authorities, who say there have been three construction deaths directly related to the tournament, and another 37 deaths unrelated to work.

Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is in trouble after the MCAs approved a motion to expel him from office.

Members of the Meru County House of Assembly tabled a motion to dismiss the governor on Wednesday morning.

The motion to impeach him was completed after the MCAs overwhelmingly supported it.The MCAs want her to leave office for allegations of misconduct, the appointment of her husband to the county office and the alleged dismissal of county officials.

When the MCAs started the debate to impeach him on Wednesday morning, Mwangaza had refused to appear before Parliament to defend himself.

The governor claimed that the choice of the MCAs to re-submit the impeachment motion is contempt of court.

"Continuing with the process of dismissing him will be the same as perpetuating the evil intended to be cured by the orders of the honorable court," said Mwangaza's lawyer Elias Mutuma. The impeachment motion was initiated on Tuesday, December 6, where the MCAs impeached the governor.

Kenya to expand economic ties with South Korea, President Ruto says
President William Ruto addresses Kenyan community in South Korea.

President Ruto said Kenya will engage the South Korean Government to unlock opportunities in technology, trade, investment, and maritime operations.
The bilateral talks with South Korea will also focus on securing markets for Kenyan products.

President William Ruto has said the government of Kenya will expand economic ties with South Korea to create business and job opportunities for Kenyans.
Speaking during a meeting with Kenya Community in South Korea on Tuesday, President Ruto said Kenya will engage the South Korean Government to unlock opportunities in technology, trade, investment, and maritime operations.

"We have about 300 Kenyans in South Korea, the next time I come to South Korea I hope we will have 10,000 Kenyan youth working here. I know many of you are planning on how to come home, I am planning on how many more can come to Korea," the Head of State noted.

He added that Kenya will leverage its human capital - which is one of the best worldwide – to expand opportunities.

“You have to understand your competitive advantage, as Kenyans, we have the best human capital in the globe. Creative, innovative, hardworking, self-driven, friendly, educated… you rarely get those qualities in a human being but you get them in Kenya. It is because of that spirit that Kenyans are different,” he said.

Additionally, President Ruto said the human capital will lead to an increase in diaspora remittance.

“Today we are receiving about Ksh. 400 billion from our diaspora every year, I am looking forward to push it forward to a trillion in the next five years,” he said.

The bilateral talks with South Korea will also focus on securing markets for Kenyan products.

President Ruto said Kenya will focus on value addition with a view of exporting value added products.

“We must move from processing 5 percent of our tea to 50 percent in the next five years and in years’ time we should be able to process every gram of tea grown in Kenya."
