NNAMDI KANU COURT UPDATE!!

- The Federal High Court in Abuja quashed 8 of the 15-count charge levelled against Nnamdi Kanu.

- The Prosecution counsel, Mr Shuaibu Labaran claimed the accused jumped bail, but the defense counsel Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) noted that the accused never jumped bail but "merely escaped with his life" over the invasion of his house by the Nigerian military.

- Nnamdi Kanu travelled to Kenya on British passport, so his forceful return to Nigeria is an "extraordinary rendition" which is contrary to the African charter on Human and People's Right; The Universal declaration of Human Right of 1948; & The International Covenant on Social and Political Right, his counsel insist.

- Nnamdi Kanu defense counsel insisted that an accused has to be free to "stand trial" and not "sit down or be in the grave trial."

- So the court ruled that the plea for Nnamdi Kanu's bail would be heard on 18th May.
