Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
- 6’0, 195lb, 4.3 40yrd speed. Great athletic measurables almost built like an RB
- played great press man coverage in senior bowl
- played lots of off coverage on film really well
- played both extremly physical
- the times he missed a step in coverage his closing speed to recover was insanely good and very natural looking.

Weakness is run support tackling, you draft a corner to cover, but god do i believe downhill aggressive tackling on a RB is an underrated trait from DBs. Other DB Draft option Terrion Arnold made amazing tackles against rbs in run game (very underrated DB trait). Also I believe although Terrion Arnold a tad slower played press man mirror match coverage better than Mithcell. Arnold had better flip/fluid hips in coverage, Quinyon can be a little stiff.

BUT Arnold does not have the athleticism Mitchell has and when hed lose coverage/give too much separation at the top of the route tree he could NOT recover. I liked Arnold in the slot and Quinyon on the outside.

Eagles did not have to move up to get a top DB prospect and gets much needed speed revamp in coverage. A+ pick. (Preferred move was to package this 1st for something to get PS2 from Broncos but this was my position of need and had to address in some way)

Anyway Quinyon is an Eagle now and going to be a part of this new young secondary im excited for. GO BIRDS🦅

**Side note Quinyon had his grandmother Marilyn Johnson at the draft with him and calls her his “best friend”. Love the character im seeing so far.

Saquon has an injury past, but many top RBs have sustained injuries due to it being the most hit position on a football field. The more snaps the more chances for unfortunate injuries. The Giants offense has been Saquon since him being drafted and when he plays a full season thats when theyve had success.

2020 was Saquons major season ending injury in week 2 vs the bears with an MCL/ACL tear. 2020 was the infamous Covid year and almost canceled the NFL season(How weird was the whole cardboard cutout fans thing?). There was no preseason and many players were getting injured early in the season. Saqoun recovered fully in 2020/2021 and he has still looked explosive in the past two seasons 2022/2023. Seeing two years of top production is huge after a major injury (Carson wasnt the same after his knee issues).

The most common injury hes been dealing with are ankle sprains which is commonly linked to overusage of the RB and it didnt help he was playing on a turf home field.

So total missed 3 games last year, ZERO in 2022, 5 in 2021, 15 in 2020, 4 in 2019, ZERO rookie year 2018.

Am I little concerned of Barkleys injury history, sure, who wouldnt be with an ACL/MCL tear. But the risk of him getting another injury outweighs his potential running game behind the Eagles oline. The Eagles havent had a back this explosive since shady and how fun was that to watch?!?!

Man looks good in Eagles Green. Loved Saquon since his days at Penn and wish we could of signed him in 2018. Hes been injured because he was asked to “carry” the Giants offense. In philly, he’ll be asked to be our main back but should face a lot less focus from defenses. Easy 1k yards this year. LOVE THIS SIGNING!

Remember when the Ravens franchise tagged Lamar and he requested a trade this offseason and could join any team who offered him a better deal. There appeared to be no offers for Jackson when the Ravens applied the tag, leading many to believe no other teams wanted to match the quarterback’s demands….then the Ravens remembered hes an MVP and gave him a five year contract. Hindsights always 20/20 and everyone says theres a script but cant tell you whose gonna win the next week.

This is what Eagles fans mean when its terrible play calling... 3rd and 2…Todd Bowles known for blitzing…Eagles are the most blitzed team on third down close to a staggering 50%….Play is 5 wide audible to 4 verts with HB protection…. Not one drag, slant, out, zig… just long developing 9 routes. This is the type of play call that breaks fans and players.

Then when Sirianni did try short outs against the blitz it was still…no motion, no stacks, no bunches, no creativity. Nothing. Just asking your talented guys to win and your quarterback to throw with a free rusher in his face. Over and over again. And then last but not least the “counter” to the blitz was screen passes on 3rd and long.

Whoever it is calling plays should be embarrassed as a playcaller watching this film back.

The X’s and O’s need to change and that usually starts with the HC down.

(Dont get me started on defense and positional coaches with tackling)

For the people trying to troll Eagles fans…I can absolutely promise you no one hates the Eagles more than the fans have the past month. Any fan with eyeballs knew the Eagles were bad this year, but somehow was managing a winning season through raw talent and fight.

This is definitely the year to clear the coaching tree as there are so many capable X and O’s Head coaches available. Maybe Vrabel will get hired, bring derrick henry, and complete the titans as the Eagles talent farm Team. 🤷‍♂️

“Pass to score, run to win”

Yea I know the carry totals don’t look that bad, Swift 18, and Gainwell 6, but when you pay attention to the flow of the game the Eagles got away from their run game after the 1st quarter of the game. Swift is averaging 4.6 yrds/run and with our 3rd/4th and short conversion rate we need to power run when we have 4/10 best pulling lineman in the NFL.

This will also help Hurts not have decision fatigue running rpos all game and force him to look for check downs instead of deep balls. Dont give the QB deep ball reads if you dont want him to throw deep.

Excited to see a different gameplan on defense tonight! Good Coaches and GMs admit mistakes and pivot when things arent working. Desai’s defensive play calling situationally just hasnt made sense all year.

The Eagles defense under Sean Desai -- since Week 8

PPG allowed -- 30.0 (31st in NFL )
Sack rate -- 5.1% (31st)
YPG allowed -- 428.2 (32nd)
Pass YPG allowed -- 297.8 (32nd in NFL)
3rd down defense -- 54.8% (32nd)
Red zone defense -- 78.3% (32nd)

Makes plenty of sense to try a different play caller because the odds of the defense being worse are worth the chance of being better.
