Every few months or so, I like to reconnect with my goals so I can stay on track.

So guess what? I decided to share them with you today!

1- Eat healthy. I try to eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies every day.

2- Cut the sugar! This one is tough, so positive vibes, please?

3- Move. I try to get in one-two hours of exercise daily; even if I have to break it up :)

What’s one big goal do you have this month?

I’ve been using Young Living Essential Oils since 2014 after watching a good friend and her journey with them. Here are a few reasons you should choose Young Living too!

Young Living is the only essential oil company that owns their own farms or partners with farms that are willing to live up to their standards for growing, harvesting, and distilling.
Young Living is the only essential oil company in the world with a Seed to Seal process since they control every single aspect of production.
Most essential oils have expiration dates, but Young Living oils do not. 100% pure essential oils (excluding citrus) will last indefinitely if properly stored away from heat and sunlight.

Antioxidants are all the rage. And, justifiably so. Antioxidants help neutralize free radicals which cause cell damage, which ultimately can lead to diseases of the heart and cancer. It seems everywhere you go it's blueberry this and blueberry that. You have your choice of wild blueberry juice, blueberry- pomegranate juice, blueberry-cranberry juice and so on and so on.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I love blueberries. But, in our rush to embrace the latest antioxidant food craze (blueberries, cranberries, pomegranates) we’re ignoring some very high-antioxidant foods that are probably sitting ignored in our cupboards.

“What?” You ask, “What could possibly be higher in antioxidants than my beloved wild blueberry?” Well, how about the small red bean? That’s right, I said “bean.”

The small red bean actually has more antioxidants per serving size than the wild blueberry. And the red kidney bean and pinto bean have more antioxidants per serving size than a serving of cultivated blueberries.

What other foods are high in antioxidants? For starters, there are artichoke hearts, blackberries, prunes, pecans, spinach, kale, russet potatoes and plums. And, no, that’s not a mistake. Russet potatoes are on the list of foods high in antioxidants.

The truth is, there are many common foods high in antioxidants and you should not just restrict yourself to one particular food source. Why? Well, have you ever heard the expression, “eat your colors?” That refers to the fact that foods are in different color “families” containing different types of antioxidants which have different benefits. For example, the yellow-orange color family of peaches and nectarines help our immune systems. The purple-red color family of foods (pomegranates, plums, berries) helps reduce inflammation. It’s important to eat foods from all color groups to reap the full benefits of antioxidants.

The good news is that you can eat healthy foods high in antioxidants (by eating them raw, cooking them, or juicing them yourself) without having to pay a high price for the “flavor of the month” antioxidant juices being peddled in the supermarkets.

So, give your blueberries some company at the dinner table. Invite some beans, spinach, potatoes and artichoke hearts and enjoy your antioxidants!

For example:

I used to try to share my photos on Instagram but posting in real-time and from my iPhone was tough. It’s just not my speed.

Now I use Tailwind to schedule my posts ahead of time, and it’s a little slice of heaven. I design posts and stories in Canva and schedule them from my Mac, which is so convenient and DOABLE!! Use my link If you'd like to give it a shot tailwind.sjv.io/VyormE

How I’ve gotten better at saying “no”

I admit…I’m a people pleaser.

Or at least I used to be until I learned how to:

Stop doing things I didn’t want to do…

Seek my own approval instead of others…

Voice my opinions and desires…

Accept that I will make mistakes, and that it’s okay…

Stand by my choices and decisions…

As a child, saying no to my parents, grandparents, or anyone older than me was considered rude.

But now I’m an adult. And saying no doesn’t mean that I am unkind, or selfish, or rude.

It means that I respect myself and my choices. It means that I am setting boundaries in my life and in relationships. And it means that I’m being honest with myself and those that I love.

Never apologize for being you. You are beautiful and the world needs to hear your voice.

What are you saying “no” to this week?

Becoming more confident is a process and takes practice. Give yourself some grace to learn to have faith in yourself.

Self confidence has been a struggle for me at times throughout my whole life. Here are a few tips I’ve learned along the way.

1. Be kind to yourself. Do your best to accept yourself just as you are. Remind yourself that you are human and that you are doing the best you can with what you have. You should love and appreciate yourself before anything else.

2. Get out of your comfort zone. Feeling self-conscious while learning to stretch yourself might feel a bit awkward as you try new things, but each time you face your fears, you’ll become a little more confident in handling all life throws at you.

3. Stop caring about what other people think. We’ve all heard the saying “whatever someone thinks of you is none of your business”. It really is best not to let other people’s opinions of you prevent you from being the most authentic version of yourself.

4. Believe in yourself. What you believe is the single most powerful tool you have. You can completely change your life just by changing your beliefs.

5. Spend time with people who make you happy. The happiest people are the ones who make others happy.

Don’t wait for someone or something to hand your dream to you or give you permission. Instead, look in the mirror and give yourself permission. Ask yourself what it’s going to take to be successful. You have all the answers you need. You are limitless!!

I love tomatoes, but most of my family doesn’t really care for them. Do you like tomatoes? What’s your favorite way to eat them?

Tomatoes are low in calories and full of nutrients. To take advantage of the benefits, you can incorporate tomatoes into your diet by using them as sauce, paste, salsa or eating them fresh or dried.

Check out some of their largest benefits.

Tomatoes are a great source of vitamins. Tomatoes provide vitamin A, which supports immunity, vision and skin health. They also have vitamin K which is good for your bones. You’ll also find potassium in tomatoes which is a key nutrient for heart function, muscle contractions, and maintaining healthy blood pressure and fluid balance.

They boost digestive health. Tomatoes are an important source of soluble and insoluble dietary fibers. Soluble fiber retains water to create a gel-like texture during digestion. Insoluble fiber adds bulk to stool.

They are good for skin health. Vitamin C found in tomatoes can help promote firm, smooth-looking skin. They also contain the antioxidant lycopene which can help protect your skin from UV damage.

Regular physical exercise can help get your stress response system into a normal balance. It’s been said that routine exercise helps release natural endorphins that may reduce stress.

A few things I do at home to relieve stress:

Walking. For me, the simplest way to get some relief is a 10-15 minute walk. It is generally enough to restore my calm.

Dancing. What could possibly be more joyful than dancing to some great music? I have a great space in my garage where I bust a move a couple times a week or more.

Yoga. I couldn’t begin to explain how practicing yoga has helped me through some of the roughest bouts of anxiety. Give it a shot, you’ll be glad you did.

Nothing makes my day more than waking up to messages like this…

“I was super skeptical about the liquid collagen because I am very picky about trying new things, but I tried it anyway. I can honestly say that I am officially on the collagen train! WOOT! Thank you for the recommendation!” ~Jayne

Eating healthy food and having a well-balanced diet is one of the most essential parts of your life and can help you in maintaining health, fitness, and happiness. You may have heard this many times in your life, but how many of us realize the actual importance of eating healthy foods? Sometimes, even though we give it our best shot, we aren’t able to get it right. This might be because we don’t know how to eat right or we aren’t putting our efforts in the right direction. Some of us fail because we can’t control our minds to listen to the alarms. Yet, some of us are failing because we are not seeing the results of our efforts which can lead to depression and bad eating habits.

Exercise self-control: Train your mind to eat right and avoid extremes.

Eat small meals: It’s best to divide your meals correctly and eat in small portions throughout the day.

Eat wholesome foods: Whole foods are a great source of nutrients and dietary fiber which are very important for good health.

Avoid junk foods: Junk foods contain many unwanted calories that the body tends to store as fat. It is necessary to exercise control and avoid junk to eat right.

Good protein intake: Good protein intake will help in the maintenance of the body and in muscle build-up and repair.

Watch the fat intake and make sure to include foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals.

It’s not easy to plan to eat right. One should have the determination to eat right and stick with it.
