This is to officially inform the PUBLIC that there are 28 additional recorded cases of COVID-19 Variant of Concerns coming from the Municipality of Cagwait(1), Cantilan(3),Carrascal(2),Cortes(1), Lanuza (3), Madrid (1), San Miguel (4), Tago (3) ,Marihatag (1), San Agustin (1),City of Bislig (3) and City of Tandag (5) .

2. A 24-year-old, Male, Healthcare Worker, Fully Vaccinated, had experienced mild symptoms, without history of travel outside the province, cannot linked to a confirmed case was admitted and discharged from a Hospital Facility.
3. A 42-year-old, Male, unvaccinated, with comorbidity, had experienced mild symptoms, with history of travel from Davao City, cannot linked to a confirmed case.
4. A 57-year-old, Male, unvaccinated, with comorbidity, had experienced mild symptoms, without history of travel outside the province history of exposure to a confirmed case.
5. A 54-year-old, Male, with comorbidity, unvaccinated, had experienced Critical symptoms, without history of travel outside the province, cannot linked to a confirmed case was admitted and died at a Hospital Facility.
Out of 28 cases of COVID-19 Variant of Concerns 24 Individuals are unvaccinated including 1 case of death, and 4 have received COVID-19 vaccine and only experienced varying degrees from asymptomatic to mild.

All Alive cases have recovered after mandatory quarantine days. All identified Close Contacts were contact traced already and have undergone mandatory quarantine days.
All 28 recorded cases COVID-19 Variant of Concerns are considered LOCAL TRANSMISSION.
As of October 16, 2021 the Province of Surigao Del Sur have recorded a cumulative COVID-19 Variant of Concern Cases of 63.
In line with this current health event, the PUBLIC is reminded to follow religiously the MINIMUM PUBLIC HEALTH STANDARDS.
