*War against Drugs Continue;* J&K Police District Ganderbal arrested a Notorious Drug Peddler in the Jurisdiction of PS Safapora & Contraband Substance recovered and Seized.

Today PS Safapora received information through reliable source that one person namely *Umar Reyaz Bhat S/O Reyaz Ahmad Bhat R/O Treesa, Safapora* has hide some Contraband Cannabis like substance inside his residential house with an intention to sell it to the local youth of the area.

Acting swiftly, special Police team led by SHO Safapora Shri Gulzar Hussain conducted a search of the said house along with Executive Magistrate 1st Class Lar.

During search, 11.276 Kgs (Approximately) of crushed Cannabis like substance (B**g Patti with top & Seeds) have been recovered, Seized and the accused was arrested on the spot.

Subsequently, Case FIR No. *26/2024*, under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at PS Safapora & further investigation taken up.

J&K Police District Ganderbal requests citizens to come forward & share inputs about Drug Peddlers, so that young generation can be saved from the dreadful abuse.

*SSP Budgam flags off group of students for Bharat Darshan Tour-2023-24*

October 10: As a part of Civic Action Programme of J&K Police, Police in Budgam flagged off group of 66 students of district Budgam with 05 caretakers for a week long Bharat Darshan Tour-2023-24. The tour is organized by District Police Budgam and all boarding and lodging facilities including air tickets are being provided to the students by J&K Police.

SSP Budgam Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS flagged off the students for Bharat Darshan Tour at DPL Budgam and the ceremony was attended by Addl. SP Budgam Shri Ragav S-IPS, DySP DAR Budgam and other senior officers of district Police Budgam.

SSP Budgam while interacting with the students said that Bharat Darshan tour is primarily aimed at providing opportunity to the students of the district to understand the diversity, culture of different regions of India and advised them to avail the opportunity to enrich their knowledge by visiting historical places and marvels of the country and said that it is an effort of J&K Police to provide a platform for the students to experience the beauty of the nation and imbibe the varied learning from the journey and besides wished them a safe and secure tour.

During the tour, students will visit cities of Delhi and Kolkata besides historical sites, monuments and parks of these cities. Accommodation has been arranged and all the students have been given a kit that contains a customized tracksuit, a pair of shoes, socks, cap and a carry bag. The group will be assisted by a guide who would be highlighting the significance of the spots and their importance to make the trip educational and informative as well.

Parents and students applauded the efforts made by Police for this initiative and thanked District Police Budgam for providing them this invaluable opportunity.

Social Activist Bilal Bhat demands relief for fire victims .

Hailed the action taken by Fire Service Station Ganderbal ,Police and Local Public to control on flames .

Ganderbal, Oct ,5th : Social Activist Bilal Bhat has expressed concern over the fire incident at iddgha Colney Thalan Tullamulla in which Cowshed , Paddy Dry grass and other wodden items including windows,etc gutted in this blaze.

In a statement, Bilal Bhat said that the flames broke out of a Cow Shed belongs to Ab Hameed Wani S/o: Gh Ahmad Wani resident of Tullamulla were gutted in this blaze .

Bilal Bhat, said fire tenders have reached to the spot to douse off the flames & local youth also helped to control on the flames .The timely action prevented the fire from spreading further in the congested locality, he said, adding that there was no loss of life or injury in the incident.

Bhat appealed DC Ganderbal to compensate the losses incurred by affected at the earliest,“Compensation will help them to start their livelihood again and their day to day life afresh,” he said.

POLICE ARRESTED 02 NOTORIOUS DRUG PEDDLERS IN GANDERBAL; HUGE CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE SEIZED.

*War against Drugs Continue;* J&K Police District Ganderbal arrested 02 Notorious Drug Peddlers in the Jurisdiction of PP Shadipora & Seized huge Contraband Substance.
To eradicate Drug Menace from the society, Ganderbal Police in a decisive move against Drug Peddlers & tightening noose against them during patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora at Khan Mohalla Bund apprehended 02 persons namely Rizwan Ahmad Khan S/O Gh Hassan Khan & Sahil Ahmad Khan S/O Manzoor Ahmad Khan, both residents of Khan Mohalla along with Contraband Substance 10.2 Kg dried mashed bhang with seeds and tops and 368 Grams of Bhang Powder. The recovered Contraband Substance was seized on the spot and both the accused were arrested.

Furthermore, during preliminary questioning, one accused Rizwan Ahmad Khan confessed that he has stashed some more mashed bhang pathri at his home. Accordingly, in presence of Executive Magistrate 1st Class, more 2 Kgs and 796 Grams bhang patri was recovered from the residential house of the accused situated at Khan Mohalla. Total 13 Kg of mashed Bhang with top and seeds and 368 Gms bhang powder (Approximately) was recovered & seized.

Subsequently, Case FIR No. *258/2024*, under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at PS Ganderbal & further investigation taken up.

J&K Police District Ganderbal assures general Public to eradicate the roots of Drug menace from the society & requests citizens to come forward & share inputs about Drug Peddlers, so that young generation can be saved from this dreadful abuse.

*Police busts terror module in Awantipora; IEDs, Arms and ammunition recovered*

Awantipora, September 27: Police in Awantipora have arrested 06 terrorist associates and recovered IEDs, arms & ammunition, and other incriminating materials from their possession.

Awantipora police got specific input that a Pakistan based Kashmiri terrorist of JeM outfit was into process of identification of youth who can be motivated to join terror ranks and after finding such youth, arms / ammunition/explosives was being delivered to these youth to commit terror acts before their formal joining into terror ranks .

Upon this information, Case FIR No. 108/2024 U/S 13/18 UAPA & 7/25 Indian Arms Act was registered at Police Station Tral.

During investigation, the youth who were part of this module were identified. It came to fore that Pakistan based terrorist with the assistance of an OGW in jail identified many youth who were motivated by them to join terror ranks in Tral area of Awantipora and Kulgam district.

The youth so identified were provided pistols, grenades, IEDs and other explosive materials to facilitate their joining into terror ranks. Before inducting them into terror ranks, they were instructed to do some terror activity either by target killing, throwing grenades on SFs /Public places , non-local labourers and by laying & detonating IEDs.

During investigations, It also came to fore that Pakistan based terrorist handler had chosen some places for planting of IEDs with the assistance of these youth. The terrorist handler has also pumped in some money to carry out the tasks and to procure material for fabrication of more IEDs.

So far 06 terrorist associates have been arrested in the case and from possession and upon disclosures of these accused persons, large quantity of arms /ammunition and explosives including 05 IEDs with remotes, 30 Detonators, 17 Batteries for IEDs, 02 Pistols, 03 Pistol Magazines, 25 live rounds of Pistol, 04 Hand grenades and Cash amount of Rs 20000 have been recovered.

Investigation of case is underway & more arrests and recoveries are likely in the case.
