Vice President Sumbal loses no confidence motion in floor test.
Bandipora:- vice president of the Municipal Committee Sumbal in north Kashmir's Bandipora district Gulshana begum on saturday lost the no-confidence motion during a floor test, officials said.
The floor test was neccesitated after atleast 7 councillors challenged the vice president to prove his majority after which no confidence motion date was fixed today ,At least, 7 councillors from a total of 13 moved a no-confidence motion against the vice president for alleged unsatisfactory performance.
Sources said that the incumbent president, Gulshana loses the motion after 7 councillors voted against her.
The floor test was held in the office of the Sumbal Municipal Committee under the supervision of ADDC Bandipora and Executive Officer Municipal Committee sumbsl in which the no-confidence motion by the councilors against the vice President was successful -
Its pertinent to mention that there are total 13 ward members in the municipal committee sumbal in which 7 councilors voted against the vice president.
It is noteworthy that Gulshana begum has been working continuously for 4 years as the Vice President of the previous Sumbal Municipal Committee, however, a few councilors expressed no confidence against her.

Teenage non-local labourer shot dead in Bandipora village
Bandipora, Aug 12 A 19-year-old non-local labourer has been shot dead by unknown gunmen in Sadunara village of Hajin in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, officials said here.
An official told the news agency that unknown gunmen fired upon the non-local labourer at around 1 am in the night.
He said that the labourer suffered critical injuries and soon after the incident he was shifted to a nearby hospital, where from he was referred to JVC Bemina.
The official said that he succumbed to his injuries on way to JVC Bemina, however, the body has been brought to CHC Sumbal now.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Amrej (19) of Besarh village of Bihar and was presently putting up at a rented accommodation in Sadunara village

Bandipora August 08: in connection to the series of activities being organised as part of ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav a mega Tiranga rally was today held in Education Zone Hajin in presence of District Nodal Officer Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak in which over 750 students of different schools enthusiastically took part.
Addressing the gathering District Nodal Officer Bandipora Mohd Ashraf Hakak said that th idea behind Har Ghar Tiranga activities is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of People and to promote awareness about Indian National Flag.
He said series of activities like rallies, debates, quiz, painting competitions and cultural programmes are organised throughout district to promote the campaign.
Hakak said organising such events adds more enthusiasm among the public aand respect for Tiranga.
He urged all the stake holders to cooperate and coordinate in order to make the Har Ghar Tiranaga initiative a grand success in the district.
Speaking ok the occasion ZEO Hajin Mohammad Akbar said under the directions of Worthy Deputy commissioner Bandipora Mega Tiranga rally was kicked started in Zone Hajin in which number of students have participated and this will continue till 15th August .Number of events will be conducted ahead of 15 August celebration, He added
Three schools have participated in this mega rally with full enthusiasm and every school will took part in Har Gar Tiranga program to make it successful.

The main objective of the training was a general awareness of our precious water resources & local groundwater conditions, conservation practices, groundwater issues, and groundwater management. During the technical session, PowerPoint presentation was delivered by the expert of the organization namely Rayees Ahmad Pir Scientist (Hydrogeologist), and discussions on the groundwater-related issues and the need for the conservation of groundwater and various techniques to improve the groundwater availability with modern Scientific Techniques to protect Ground Water Resources of J&K State were discussed. Cultural programme and speeches on Groundwater were also presented by the students during the inaugural session.
The lectures have been designed to cover all the aspects of Water Resource Management, Ground Water Scenario & Hydrogeological conditions of J&K state, Groundwater Quality, Hydrogeological Problems in J&K state, Anthropogenic activities viz-Encroachment and Water pollution and its impacts on human Health, Watershed Management, Water Conservation, Rain Water Harvesting & Artificial Recharge to Ground Water in this training

Protests in support of MC Chairman and against Manager was also held by some people in front of the Bank Branch.
Talking to Media, MC Chairman said that he accompanied a local beneficiary to Bank Branch, who was facing some issues regarding loan from past couple of months.
“ I requested the Manager politely to solve the problem of this beneficiary as he is moving from pillar to post from last 3 months. Inturn, he got infuriated and misbehaved with me,” said Jahangir.
He said he has filed a written complaint with police seeking action against the Manager
When contacted, Manager said that he has intimated his higher ups regarding the matter, adding he is not authorized to talk to Media.

Bandipora June 24: Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmed on Friday kick started first ever District tennis Cricket Championship Bandipora at S.K Stadium Bandipora.
He was accompanied by Padma Shri Awardee Faisal Ali Dar.
The championship is being organised by District Tennis Cricket Championship Association in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora, District Election Office Bandipora and Ali's Sports Academy Bandipora.
In three days championship 34 teams from across the district are participating in senior and junior category including 08 teams from girls category.
The championship is aimed to select 04 teams, two from boys and two from girls category to participate in UT level competition at Srinagar.
The programme also witnessed voter awareness under SVEEP ( Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) by District Election Office Bandipora.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. owais said that Bandipora has proved its mettle in sports in previous years.
He highlighted the importance of sports and encouraged the participants to make best use of such platforms to display their talent.
He also appreciated the role of organisers for identifying the budding talent.
While interacting with the players, the DC said that District administration is keen to develop sports infrastructure in the district and urged the youth to participate in such programmes enthusiastically.
To encourage the participation and enrolment of 18 years above age group in the electoral process motives of SVEEP programme was also highlighted by Deputy commissioner.
Among various facets the programme was meant to spread electoral awareness under SVEEP.
