IWD 2024: Allison Manefield, NEP Australia.

Allison has spent 12 years working in television and currently works as an Audio Director for NEP Australia. When asked how she got her start in the industry Allison replied:

"I found myself in broadcast after studying sound production at RMIT. Once I got my foot in the door, I never left. I've experienced a lot of different productions over the years in broadcast: live studio shows, outside broadcasts, location sound and reality TV."

NEP Group is celebrating women’s achievements in the broadcast and live events industries around the world throughout the month of March, so keep an eye out for more posts highlighting some of the talented women of NEP!

It was great to see some of you at our end of program session the other week, and we want to extend a huge thank you to all of those who participated.

This session we had 10 pairings Mentor/ Mentee pairings across multiple states.

For those interested, we will be kicking off the program again early 2023, so stay tuned to find out how to be a part of it.

Fabulous to hear about the Mentoring initiatives from Rise & SVGW yesterday at Conference in Sydney.

An extraordinary group of women hosted by Shauna Purcell with panel members Olivia Grimshaw Grass Valley, Caroline Ramsay NEP, Manda Hatter ABC and Pip Warren AVID.

Great to see Women in Broadcast take the stage and hear from Senior Technical Director, Jane Bowers. Inspiration, diversity, networking and guidance.

The SVGW Australia Mentoring Program has kicked off for 2022!

The aim of the Program is to enable transfer of knowledge from experienced industry professionals, in the sphere of sport and broadcast, to women who are looking to increase their skills, knowledge and experience in order to advance their careers, or to seek a new direction.

This year we have 20 participants and we look forward to hearing about their journey when the program is completed in early October.

SVGW 2021 Mentor Program 👭

Last week marked the beginning of our 2021 mentor program. 16 remarkable women gathered over Teams to discuss their motivations and goals for the program. 🌟

The program consists of 8 sessions over a 3-month period that aims to transfer the knowledge from experienced female professionals in the media and sports broadcasting industry to women who are looking for self-development, to increase their skills and knowledge in order to advance their careers or seek new direction.

The successful eight mentees boast diverse experience in the media and sports broadcasting industry working at NEP, Telstra, Mediatec and Riedel. They shared their unique interests in joining the program and their personal career visions.

Eight accomplished mentors revealed their passions for the industry and their journey of success. They offer extraordinary experience working as Producers, Directors or for companies which include AFL, Amazon, and Optus Sport.

It was very rewarding to hear these women discuss their strong drive and passion to empower women in growing their careers and offering support to these mentees along their personal journeys.

We are very pleased with the depth of discussion and connection between mentors and mentees in the first session and your SVGW coordinators are excited to hear about your progress in the program over the next three months! 🤩
